Looking forward to the sailing competition. New Zealand is represented in 9 of the 10 events and we have a chance in several of the events.

The British must be the favourites at these games on home waters.

Brazil (again) is already doing great in sailing...

Indeed, before London 2012 starts, it was the sport that bring more medals to our nation (now Judo passed but Sailing competition is not finished yet).

August 4 is the final day of just having preliminary races for sailing, before the Olympic medals are handed out, starting the next day.

After all those races and round robin competitions, it is Olympic medals time for the next few days. Olympic medals that are up for grabs come from the men's Star and men's Finn classes for August 5.

Talk about luck. Ben Ainslie wins gold despite finishing 2nd to last in the medal race. The last place person was the one he needed to beat.

Luck schmuck. Big Ben pinned the poor Dane to the back, stole all his wind - a complete thug, but that's what gets the overall win. He does owe the Dutchman a beer though for fading fast.

Nothing to do with luck at all. Neither of those two were going to go out to the front - they were always going to cover one another and have a slow fight on the water. The commentators beforehand said this would be a race at the back between Ainslie and the Dane for Gold. They foresaw these tactics.

No chances for New Zealand today as the Mens Laser is out of contention. We have three crews currently in Medal positions including the 49er class and womens 470s in Silver and Mens 470s in Bronze.

New Zealand guaranteed a silver medal in the 49er class... A great result from the Kiwis and it is the first time since 1992 that NZ has won a sailing medal in a class other than Boardsailing (RSX).
