Field Hockey at the 2012 Summer Olympics

Today (July 29) starts the field hockey competitions. The overall schedule of the sport starts today and goes until August 10 (for the women) and August 11 (for the men).

Here, the women starts things off, with their preliminary matches.

Group A:

- Netherlands vs. Belgium @ 10:45 BST;

- China vs. South Korea @ 13:45 BST;

- Great Britain vs. Japan @ 19:00 BST.

Group B:

- New Zealand vs. Australia @ 08:30 BST;

- Argentina vs. South Africa @ 16:00 BST;

- Germany vs. United States @ 21:15 BST.

Congrats NZ! First time you've beaten us at he games in women's hockey. Gotta say, think your girls outplayed ours.

- Spain vs. Pakistan @ 13:45 BST;

- Great Britain vs. Argentina @ 19:00 BST.

Group B:

- South Korea vs. New Zealand @ 08:30 BST;

- Netherlands vs. India @ 16:00 BST;

- Germany vs. Belgium @ 21:15 BST.

Another good win for New Zealand beating South Africa 4-1

:) That was brilliant - Men's team a write-off though... :( There's something wrong with NZ's mens team sports now being shown up by the ladies...Oh yeah I almost forgot - our ultra feminist school system!!!
