micheal_warren
New Zealand must be a happy nation then today! congrats Yep first time since 1960 that NZ won two gold medals in an hour after Peter Snell and Murray Helberg won the 800m-5000m double in Rome... Bloody amazing... Its after midnight here and New Zealand is over the moon and staying up late tonight Considering there is more tomorrow...I think NZ will be in a good mood for the rest of the Games... Oh and our predicted Gold Quota has been met...and we still havent got to the Womans Shotput yet! This has set us up for a good games... Brilliant.. Michelle
Extremely happy with France's medal tally so far, and Belgium ticking along nicely. New Zealand are doing extremely well, too! Very surprised by the underwhelming performances from Australia and 2016 hosts Brazil so far. Hopefully by 2016, Brazil will be in a better position. Olympic Fan Darcy
Congrats NZ. Sick of waking up at 4:30am to see Aussies get nothing at the swimming and might out we've moved down on the medal tally. Cuba is beating us. We are 18th still one gold :/
intoronto
Hahaha, you waited til you get there to answer my post... Very fair from you... Uklympics
Another excellent day for Team GB, 3 Golds and 3 Bronze Medals. Now up to 4th in the Medal table. Would love to see us grab 3rd at the end. Possible? Who knows. Russia are always strong in the 2nd week and a couple of other teams are doing well. On course for the 20 Golds though which is very pleasing!

Alexjc
Really, a Total Medal tally would tell a different story...Australia and NZ would swap places, GB would move way up and Boratstan would drop away completely. NZ is still short on its 'predicted totals for 2012', mind you it is only half time!
USJay
Tot of the medal table atm - go Team USA!!!
Brekkie Boy
Wonder if NBC will still order it by total medals should China overtake USA in that regard, but the US have the most golds (so actually be top). Good morning so far for Team GB - two golds at the rowing and an agonising silver. Really love that the rowing and cycling guys go all out for gold - unlike our swimmers who seem happy to make a final and don't seem to care when they miss out on a medal. It was great to see Becky Adlington not that thrilled with her bronze last night - and really it's the rest of the team which have let her down and put all the pressure on her by not performing. It could also be a very good evening for Team GB tonight.

You would expect Valerie to win a medal - Would take us to 8 medals. Still quite a number of chances - lets hope the Sailors can stay in contention (Fingers crossed)

Whats wrong with them. What I do find unfair is that the Olympic Medal total is tallied on Gold...It would be a different story if it was on whole totals! Mainad
It's great seeing the hosts Britain doing well. Hope you guys get 3rd behind US and China. Thanks. I confess I was starting to get a bit nervous after the first few days when several medal possibilities did not materialise and thought we might not equal our Beijing result. Now we seem to be firmly on track. Tonight was the best night ever in British Olympic history with 6 golds and 1 silver including 3 athletic golds!
