walei
I've been hammering the official site and the result iphone app but there have been no updates on the results and it's still staying at the first pair of competitors. Is there some delay at the venue?
Gonzo
Reports there's a ticketing problem at the #archery competition. It was advertised as a free event, but fans can't get in #London2012.
Rob2012
It was listed as unticketed. Some people - without checking - have assumed this to mean you don't need tickets whereas actually it means there are no tickets because it's behind closed doors. Nowhere was it "advertised" as a free event. The fact that Lords was on BBC Breakfast this morning probably meant people turned up to see what was going on as well. walei
So is the event on going? I still don't see any result updates officially anywhere.
Gonzo
Another Olympic cockup. Archery 'ranking' event @ Lord's Cricket Ground advertised as "unticketed". In LOCOG speak means public NOT allowed in! Hundreds of angry and bewildered folk now outside Lords, some who travelled from overseas
micheal_warren
I have been keeping an eye on the official website and can't see any of the results. Is it being televised at all?

gotosy
First two world records broken at Games London 2012 has seen its first world records broken as the South Korean archery team set two landmarks at Lord's. Im Dong-hyun, who is legally blind in one eye, set an individual record in Friday's ranking round. In the team event, Dong-hyun, Kim Bubmin and Oh Jin-hyek set a new landmark. ... ong-hyun, who won team golds at the past two Games, broke his own 72-arrow mark of 696 by three points. Then, alongside Kim Bubmin and Oh Jin-hyek, he helped score a 216-arrow total of 2,087, passing the world record by 18 points http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19013793
jiejie
Strange. "Unticketed" anywhere else usually means "no ticket needed" not "closed to the public." I recall for Beijing the same preliminary ranking rounds were originally slated to be ticketed, but long before the Games actually started, went to Unticketed status, and on the day of the actual event, anybody who showed up was able to get in and watch for free. Perhaps British English really is different...

jiejie
The South Koreans are awesome archers, almost beyond belief, like arrow-shooting machines. I'd bet they can back it up. Anybody know anything about the Bhutanese archer? Am always fascinated by seeing athletes from these teeny little countries.

Al in NYC
I attended the ranking round in Athens 2004. It was "unticketed" - meaning that you just walked in and sat down. When they held the world championships here in New York all but the final rounds were free. Anyway, I've never heard of a ranking round that is totally closed to the public, so I understand why people had some rational expectation that they were going to be able to get in to watch. LOCOG really doesn't communicate effectively sometimes.
