Ceremonies on DVD?

Recommended Posts

Well on the BBC website, they offer the full ceremony.

Three versions are on offer:

TV Commentary: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00wm0br

No Commentary: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w2r5c

Audio Description: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w2r5v

I'm guessing the BBC is the only broadcaster to offer audio description?

Really shows how far ahead the BBC is when it comes to availability for all.

Also worth noting that all versions have split up the show for each section of the performance. So if you want to check out the cauldron lighting, it's easy to find.

I'm presuming the BBC videos are only available for those in the UK.

The opening few minutes of that video is really nice.

London looks great from that helicopter shot with the camera so steady.

Saw on eBay a few hours ago that China's CCTV released a 2-DVD set of the 2012 London Opening Ceremony.

Do hope that when BBC Worldwide releases its 9 hour 2012 Olympic DVD set, it will have the OC and CC in their entireties along with the massive Team GB highlights.
