micheal_warren
New Zealand has won the first medal at the games. A bronze medal in the Team Eventing. An excellent performance from the Kiwis with Mark Todd and Andrew Nicholson winning bronze in their seventh olympics. Todd won his first medal 28 years ago in Los Angeles. Amazing! The 8s are amazing to watch. Just wish the Kiwis could have been there. I was at the 2010 world champs when the Kiwi 8s were in the final and finished 5th at Karapiro. Alexjc
Mike Dawson crashes out of the Canoe Slalom with a 50 point penalty...Still a good effort on his first games. I'm surprised NZ isn't in this more as our rivers have what it takes. Prehaps NZ needs to build a dedicated course...Yes I think so!

Also a shame that Linda Villumsen finished 4th in the Time Trial. Less than two seconds off the Bronze medal. I hope there is not too many more 4th places. Alexjc
The rowing really only has the Doubles and Mahe left as two thirds of our predicted 'Gold' haul...apart from the bronze, we are pretty much finished here...Mildly dissapointed especially for the womans fours...Rowing gets $millions in funding. Still got the Kayakers though. Apart from Valerie Adams...Anything 'Gold' now is a bonus and that includes the Cycling and Andrea Hewett.

Dont count out the Kiwi Double sculls either, they have been improving. Also the mens lightweight double sculls! Just be patient! I think we still have medals coming in: Mens Pairs Mens Single Sculls Mens Double Sculls Mens Lightweight Pairs Possibly: Womens Single Sculls Womens Lightweight pairs
