Rob2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Bye byeski. THIS IS NOT RUSSIA! Two awful teams in the quaters, Russia deserve to be there, but can't help but laugh!
Citius Altius Fortius Posted June 16, 2012 Author Report Posted June 16, 2012 (edited) ... what a surprising result in Group A ... Didn't expect that Greece will qualify resp. that Russia doesn't qualify... Edited June 16, 2012 by Citius Altius Fortius
Rob2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 "Czech Republic is the first team to win a European Championship group with a negative goal differential."
Luffy Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 God that was such a wonderful euro and now one of the best team go stupidly! We can have a Denmark/Czech quarter and one very very okayish team in the semi and then who knows and god save us from the greek getting their quaters to the penalties!. This euro deserve better.
Scotguy Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 We should not be underestimating the Czechs - they are previous Champions and runners up - alot more than other teams in the competition have achieved.
Faster Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 (edited) That was a long time ago. Czech Republic just doesn't have the quality of depth. Russia, a middle-tier team completely outclassed them and they got lucky to run into 10 minutes of uncharacteristically poor defense from Greece. I doubt the Czechs would have been able to beat Turkey or Bosnia in a play-off. I feel for Poland though. Wish they had managed to get through. Can't say I am particularly happy about Germany likely (knock on wood) playing Greece in the next round. I think Russia or Czech Republic would have been more suited to bringing the best out of the German team. Edited June 17, 2012 by Snabbare
Ikarus360 Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Russia and Poland out....Well, f***. I wasn't expecting this. Surprises me more that Greece made it to the quarter finals. Feel bad for the polish, though. Hope that at least the other host, Ukraine, makes it to the next stage.
Gangwon Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Well, that was a short run for the hosts. As it stands, 4 of the 5 Eastern European teams might be eliminated in the group stages.
stark Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Nobody expected that outcome, specially since Russia played very good their first match
