Nederland vs. Deutschland

Recommended Posts

It was an amazing match of the German team in the first half -- and the Dutch seemed almost paralysed. It already looked a bit like the 2010 World Cup quarterfinal between Germany and Argentina. But sadly, the German team was very tired in the second half and thus they spoiled what could have been a magnificent football night for them.

Nevertheless, they now stand a good chance of going through and also of going through as group winner. It's good to see that they have significantly improved, and I hope for another improvement for the Denmark match.

On the other hand, the Dutch are a big disappointment. But somehow it was almost expectable after the reports that (as usual, one might say) the atmosphere in the team is tense. They have great individualists, but they don't play well together as a team. They lack spirit, and that is almost always punished in a tournament like this one.

I didn't thought that the German's match was that good!

In the first round they had only 3 occassions and scores twice. And in the second half they weren't that good in counter attack but they looked very very strong in defense! I think the Switzerland game may have scare them a little and they don't go too much forward.

I also think the attack is good but Khedira & Ozil are a big let down for me at the moment, they don't produce enough quality and actions to give the occassions Gomez's deserves, Podolski & Muller aren't that good right now and they need to improve to make sure Germany wins this time!

After all Gomez can't score 100% of the good balls he get forever.

The Netherlands were just horrible, i love that team game usually but they were terrible at this euro, i'm so dissapointed in them!

Germany played way better than their first match... I'm imagining that Germany will play even better against Denmark, today the Netherlands had the preasure and I though Germany was going to look for the draw, glad it wasn't that way... ;)

Not quite true. The half-time report counted five shots on goal (or "attempts on target", as they call it) and seven shots. http://www.uefa.com/newsfiles/euro/2012/2003329_hr.pdf

I think the German offence was far more active and present than in the Portugal match.
