cslopes54
I can't say this to be my final opinion bc the stadium is not ready. I believe the translucent roof color will lighten up a little more, but I'm not a big fan of the seat colors, they aren't blending/matching, tones are not balancing. Id prefere just blue and white. My opinion for NoW
gotosy
Brazil's Rousseff opens World Cup in northeast A barefoot President Dilma Rousseff on Friday kicked off the inauguration of the stadium of the northeastern city of Salvador, one of 12 that will host next year's soccer World Cup.The brand new Arena Fonte Nova will first be used for games of next June's Confederations Cup, a dry run for the World Cup."We can show that Brazil will present a high-quality Confederations Cup, World Cup and (2016 Rio) summer Olympics," the official Agencia Brasil quoted her as saying.More than 10,000 workers took part in the renovation of the 55,000-seat Arena Fonte Nova at a cost of around $300 million. The stadium will host three Confederations Cup games in June.It is the third host stadium to be completed after those of Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza.Still under construction are: Rio's iconic Maracana arena, where the World Cup final is to be played and which will be completed on April 27, Recife's stadium expected to be finished on April 14 and that of Brasilia due on April 21.The first official match in the Salvador stadium will take place Sunday between Bahia and Vitoria as part of the Bahia state league.Jerome Valcke, the secretary general of world's football governing body FIFA on Friday conceded that Brazil will not be entirely ready to host the Confederations Cup but warned there would be no compromise with respect to the World Cup."The deadline for the FIFA World Cup stadiums delivery stands firm as December 2013. There will be no compromise," he said. ... AFP http://www.breitbart.com/system/wire/CNG---2087a1fa49c06d0ef382812296f4a009---
paul
Does anyone know why the seats are installed a few at a time here and there rather than by large blocks? I always wonder this when I see these pics.

I always wonder this when I see these pics. Due the different colors. They take a lot of one color and go installing that color skipping the spaces reserved for other colors. DannyelBrazil
British media attacks again... What the problem with them? Ok, the sign was placed in very poor English, but this mistake was seen in a test event (in my opinion, test events are there to fix mistakes, indeed, crazy mistakes like this one). And the sign WAS ALREADY REPLACED BY AT TIME WHEN THE BRITISH NEWSPAPER POSTED THE "NEWS" ABOUT "CHAOS" IN BRAZILIAN STADIUMS. Chaos, British Media, is stay in the middle of Hooligans in a sport event, indeed, Hooligans that already prevented England of joining International Tournaments for years... This never happened to Brazil. Go to hell, British Media! As expected in this case, poor amateur journalists from England isles made no update in the news posted about the replacing of the sign, leading British people to misinformation as always. Bezzi
"Confusing maze", "chaos"? Give me a breack! English is not our native language. Errors like this are understandable. The brazilians who traveled to London for the olympics had even more difficulty. There were no signs in portuguese. The olympics were a chaos? WorldCupJoe
People from English speaking countries are a bit spoiled by the fact that they can speak their mother-language when abroad.. I live in Amsterdam and Brits and Americans sometimes ask me for directions in English, without asking if i speak English. They know i do.. I see it as a compliment. I speak 3 languages fluently and 2 medium.. How 'bout you mr. Brittain or mr. 'Merica? This was a minor mistake, whoever made it, and it's corrected now, so zip-it brittish media.. B.t.w. What's the next stadium to finish? Brasilia, Rio or Recife? It's a bit of a race isn't it? Wrong. I really have no idea.. tell us please..

DannyelBrazil
Understandable lol? What world do you live in? India had the signs right and we all know how bad those games were. Test events exist for TESTING things and FIX mistakes and erros, right? The sign was REPLACED in 1 single day, is this a matter for calling "chaotic" the entire event of the World Cup in Brazil? I guess no. More: India was colony of Great Britain, they are more used to English than Brazilians... There is a great effort around Brazil to make people know basic English to welcome tourists. But don't expect entire Brazil speaking fluently English. Major Brazilians cities are placed thousands of kilometers (sometimes up to 4,000 Km!) of the nearest foreign country border.. The nearest foreign city from Salvador is placed in Africa... Imagine that. We are really not used to other languages than Portuguese... Big number of foreigners here are a recent thing in Brazil. B.t.w. What's the next stadium to finish? Brasilia, Rio or Recife? It's a bit of a race isn't it? Rio, I guess: April 27th "Confusing maze", "chaos"? Give me a breack! English is not our native language. Errors like this are understandable. The brazilians who traveled to London for the olympics had even more difficulty. There were no signs in portuguese. The olympics were a chaos? Don't blame English people or anybody else for not having signs in Portuguese language... Portuguese is a kind of secret code for most of the mankind, despite the fact it's the most spoken language of the (sub)continent of South America...
