WorldCupJoe
Thanks for the updates! Salvador is becoming my favorite more and more. Great stadium with a cool roof structure and the color of the seats makes it look really fresh.

Olympian2004
The famous "águas de março" of Rio de Janeiro take their toll at Maracanã - and the stadium's construction progress causes the "biggest worry" for FIFA general-secretary Jérôme Valcke: NBC Sports: FIFA Visit to Maracana canceled because of floods Hmmm... so this is apparently becoming a nailbiter like the construction of the refurbished Athens Olympic Stadium in 2004. But in the end, they managed to finish that in time, too.
WorldCupJoe
Time to follow this project more closely. Interesting. They will finish it on time, no doubt about it. But they really have to speed up. Always nice to have a little drama during the build-up to a tournament. Good thing they've prevented a third strike (or fourth or fifth, how much is it?) Time to rewrite and add some things do this article: http://www.worldcupofjoe.com/1/post/2013/01/the-maracan-way.html
Bezzi
Your site is cool. But some things are not updated, as the picture of Fortaleza stadium, which have already been completed and also the stadium capacities. I think you should also update the information about the Maracana. The government of Rio said yesterday that the stadium will be completed next month, despite the problem with the rain. The date of May 28 is when "ALL" the CC stadiums shall be delivered to the FIFA administration. The press here was mistaken stating that the stadium would be ready only in May. Two underground rivers will get detours and a underground "pool" is under final works to store the flooded waters... Maybe one of the biggest legacies of the World Cup in Rio, but this is not interesting to publish in the Int'l media...
DannyelBrazil
Pictures of the works to solve floodings near Praça da Bandeira area The pictures were taken by Brazilian forumers of SSC after the flodding in Maracana just to prove works have been done to solve this problem definitvely. That's why the look of the pictures are a mess of mood. This is not the actual like of the works around Maracana, as you can see in these pics from a week ago:

DannyelBrazil
Well obviously none of that is working yet. Of course, since the detour of the rivers and the "pool" are under works... But, after 50 years of March/April single-day rain floodings in the area, the problem is now addressed.
