deawebo Posted June 10, 2012 Report Posted June 10, 2012 I had a nail-biting evening... Those last 10 minutes where sick I'm happy with Germany's win but they played better the last 2 years... I don't know what happened today, perhaps they where too nervous... Germany will do better against the Netherlands since they will be calmed and it's the same type of game...
Citius Altius Fortius Posted June 10, 2012 Author Report Posted June 10, 2012 (edited) Yeah, it was a strange match. I had hoped the German team would have played like they did it in South Africa and in the last two years - otherwise the team wouldn't have a chance to win the EURO I am just glad about the result... Citius Altius Fortius Posted June 10, 2012 Author Report Posted June 10, 2012 well - it would have been lucky, too, if Portugal had won The luck of Germany doesn't mean that Portugal had deserved the victory...
Faster Posted June 10, 2012 Report Posted June 10, 2012 I found Germany was playing like Spain. Patient and passing, but without the cutting instinct in the final third.
Olympian2004 Posted June 10, 2012 Report Posted June 10, 2012 Surprisingly, the German defence now suddenly is pretty strong while the German offence is suddenly pretty weak. Funny. But since this team has such a huge potential in the offence, I expect a significant improvement in the next matches. Anyway, that was certainly not a match for "football gourmets" -- it was largely dull and ineffective. But at least Germany has three points now -- it would have been very bad if they had lost that match. They now have a psychological advantage for the match against the Netherlands. But it will be a very tough match nevertheless.
stark Posted June 10, 2012 Report Posted June 10, 2012 They will improve their offence their upcoming matches, in will also like to see Klose playing more time, he's a better sticker than Gomez
Luffy Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Well Portugal deserved better but if there is country i'm gonna forgive to be a little lucky it's Germany. They always play and go forward and i really feel that for the last six years the only thing they didn't have was a bit of luck so i'm gonna be cool with them this time! But if the defense and the middflieders don't improve a lot after this it's gonna be very difficult for the Germans to go very far
deawebo Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Germany doesn't always has a perfect tournament, remember how do Germany played against Serbia in the 2010 WC... Really bad!! And then they defeated England and Argentina... So I think they can really improve their game against the Netherlands... Remember it also exists the "Champion's Luck" (La suerte del campeón) so Germany i always gonna be Germany, they an go far but they will need to be a more offensive team too.
Faster Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 I disagree about Klose (mind you I am a Bayern fan, so naturally have a bias for Gomez). The only change I would like to see is Andrea Shurrle instead of Podolski. And yes it is nice to see a far more traditional German defense.
