Faster
The first major medal miss for Canada happened with Calder/Frandsen not medaling in the men's pairs.
dave199
Burnett flopped in the Trampoline Final too but was he really expected to medal this time around?
Faster
If he performed to standard yes. But he is still young, there is Rio ahead for him. Just leaves Dylan Armstrong today for a medal. And Sinead Russell if she can post a NR.
dave199
The Canadian Women's Basketball team advanced to the Quarter finals today with a victory over Brazil. This is the first time a Canadian team advanced this far in Women's Basketball. We'll probably face the USA in the Quarters which we all know what the outcome will be..lol
dave199
Monique Sullivan just made it into the Finals for the Women's Keirin. This was unexpected. We could possibly get another surprise medal at these games.
dave199
The Canadian boxer Clayton is one win away from a medal according to CTV. Another potential surprise medal
4seasonscentre
No medals today BUT the Princes visited the CTV studio. The interview will be shown on Olympic Prime Time, around 9:30 EST!
Faster
With 3 major misses on Friday, I think the best Canada will do now is 16. We would need 3 medals in taekwondo and 3 in women's wrestling to even come close to my original prediction of 22.

Faster
She was the same as Jason Burnett, if she was on, it would be gold, if she wasn't it would be off the mat. I just do not get how the Chinese athlete fell and still wins a bronze.
intoronto
Whoa, was that expected? Pretty cool! A medal was expected but gold IDK she certainly had the potential. Even if the chinese didn't fall she would have won. I feel so bad for Karen Cockburn.
4seasonscentre
Whoa, was that expected? Pretty cool! There was a strong chance for a medal. The last jumper, from China, looked like she had a great performance, but she slipped at the last moment. GOLD for Canada! Silver and Bronze for China. Canada also in fourth. Gangwon
Gold! An extra bronze would've been nice too, but still feels good. Hearing the Canadian anthem reminded me of Vancouver
Faster
Canada is in the bronze-medal match in women's team pursuit. Not confident of a medal since the Americans upset the Aussies and now we face the Aussies.

intoronto
Zach Bell just lost his chance at a medal in the points race. Omnium** But u never know top 3 finishes in the rest 4 events might be close to a medal and hope for the leaders to suck for 1-2 events. Is it just me or did the ending of the anthem sound off? intoronto
Hopefully we end the day at 10 medals including another gold coming from Cochrane in the pool. It will take a WR to win gold. Sun Yang and Mellouli of Tunisia are better.
Faster
Now with his elimination in the Elimination race, Bell is certainly done for a medal.

Faster
Zelinka is too far back. There isn't going to be an athletics medal this time around. There is discussion that the Canadians, Tunisians and Koreans are going to protest the 1500m.

There is discussion that the Canadians, Tunisians and Koreans are going to protest the 1500m. Where did u hear that? Also Zelinka's pb is about 10 seconds less then most of the athletes ahead of her. If the 10,000 is a tactical race u cant rule out Cam Levins
Faster
I can when the Eritreans, Ethiopians and Kenyans run as a team to block out others. Zelinka is about 200 points behind, she would need to run run in about 2:04, or 3 seconds better than her PB and hope to beat every other athlete ahead of her about about 10 seconds. A combination of events that will not happen. She would need to have been 3-6 to have a chance of a medal.
