zigzag
Well yeah, u may want it but I think 85% of the IOC'ers don't. So it ain't gonna happen in this lifetime. or at least not in this century

Olympic Fan Darcy
Think it'll start to get annoying when IOC goes to same cities or 4th tier cities in countries before they go to top city in 1 country, and i'm talking about 2080's here not 2030's so don;t think i'm stupid. TheOtherRob
I think you're being overdramatic. By 2080 the world could be an uninhabitable souffle. Twenty years ago the prospect of Rio hosting would've been unlikely. Things change very quickly. Who knows who the top-tier world cities will be in 70+ years, let alone countries in a fit economic state to host? I would hope very much Africa will be a regular host by then rather than seen as a shiny new frontier or a one-off. And so what if we go back on ourselves by then? An unwritten rotation between 30 or so major World cities with the odd curveball thrown in doesn't sound at all unreasonable given the size of the Games. We'll all be dead by then anyway, so cheer the **** up fella!

FYI
Think it'll start to get annoying when IOC goes to same cities or 4th tier cities in countries before they go to top city in 1 country, and i'm talking about 2080's here not 2030's so don;t think i'm stupid. How does it "annoy" you when you weren't even around when Paris 1924 or Berlin 1936 were held. Or were probably an infant when Rome 1960 & Tokyo 1964 happened. I think that the IOC would hold much value in returning to any of those premier, global cities, or even lower-tier places like Hamburg, Frankfurt, St. Petersburg or Osaka, with abundant infrastructure & appeal, than going to some puny city out in the middle of the desert, even if it does happen to be "No. 1" city of that tiny nation-city. Athensfan
The world is a big place. There are PLENTY of potential hosts. Some will repeat. Some will be new. Eventually the Games will go to the Middle East. They'll have the Summer Games in January or build the worlds biggest air-conditioned city or who knows what. I don't know when, but eventually they'll host. It's not going to be any time soon though, unless the IOC drives this thing into the ground and Doha is the only interested party.
