The only thing was, it had a few flaws..... for one, the white paint on the bottom was chipped off and it was clearly burned (the top was dirty). Though I guess to some people, a torch is a torch...... But that's just me, I like my things in at least good condition. Those Commonwealth games batons? Faster Posted June 28, 2012 Report Share Posted June 28, 2012 It honestly depends on where and when you buy them. The interyears between Olympics and not buying from a dedicated Olympic merchant. I saw the SLC torch for 1100 when I was in Salt Lake a few years ago. Found the Sydney torch in a pawn shop in NYC for 1300. Honestly the value of most torches is between 700 and 1500. With Athens, Beijing, Vancouver and London being on the lower end of the value range and Albertville and most early torches at the higher end. The real deal is much longer than that. The design of the logo's "rays" on the hilt looks iffy. I think it might be just a replica small torch in the vein of Beijing and London's. I actually felt light headed when I held it up (and struck a pose, behind closed doors.... , lol), I never relised how big it actually is. Questions for other torch owners... How did you feel when you obtained your first torch?
