Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 Anyone got pics of the 1992 Barcelona bid book? As in what the cover/slipcase (if it had a slipcase) looked like Quote
Lord David Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) Anyone got pics of the 1992 Barcelona bid book? As in what the cover/slipcase (if it had a slipcase) looked like Download the Barcelona 1992 bid report from LA84's foundation page. It has the "magic box" bid document files which were submitted to the IOC. I'm sure the same bid files were done without that elaborate box as well. http://library.la84.org/6oic/OfficialReports/1992/1992s1p4.pdf Edited February 21, 2015 by Lord David Quote

Archery1975 Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 Dear GamesBids-Community, I am searching for a mini bid-book as pdf file - the newer the better! London 2012 or Rio 2016 would be great! In addition to this I am really interested what kind of agencies, consultants and engineers are usually involved in "writing" a mini bid-book or a bid-book. Are there some "global players" who are engaged again and again? Can anyone name some companies? Thanks in advance, Arne Quote

Lord David Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Why the googly eyes? Barcelona made 2 versions. An easy to carry proper book version and this, the wonderful "magic box" which had the information individually. Quote
MissEurasia Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 I love the Magic Box, it stands out in front of the other Bid Books, very extravagant and nice. Quote

MissEurasia Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Bought this Istanbul one. Very excited. So it was you who was bidding for the 2020 one! I kept thinking to myself 'Should I bid? or should I look out for something else?' Anyways have fun Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted April 23, 2015 Author Report Posted April 23, 2015 I'm very happy. Especially because 2020 was the first bid race i followed from the complete start. Most of my bid books have some sort of reasoning (my attempts at justifying spending large amounts of money). 1 Quote

Lord David Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 Manchester 1996 bid book http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Manchester-olympic-bid-1996-presentation-literature-/171783385221?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27ff167085 It's a shame that Manchester made their Commonwealth Games a lesser event. Yes it is indeed a lesser event, but they went for grandeur and epicness in their 2 Olympic bid attempts. Seems like the Commonwealth Games in 2002 were quite a lesser consolation prize. Quote
