Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 3, 2013 Author Report Posted February 3, 2013 Eh i'll think about it. Item 90 euros is pretty good but postage to Australia is 40 euros. $170. Possibly an easter present for myself. Quote
Lord David Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Who wants the Melbourne 1996 (English Version) bid books? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OLYMPIC-BOOKS-1996-SUMMER-MELB-BID-BOOKS-/251226421641?pt=AU_Antiquarian_Collectable_Books&hash=item3a7e42f989 No carry case it appears. I already have them. Quote

Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 Lake Placid 1980? http://www.delcampe.net/page/item/id,160072039,var,Olympische-Spiele-Lake-Placid-1980-in-Lindner-Alben-mit-Kasette--Deutsche-Sporthilfe-S--23-,language,E.html Quote
Lord David Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 It's in German, which (alongside the evident images) clearly indicates that it's some sort of commemorative book, produced perhaps by the West German Olympic Committee. Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 13, 2013 Author Report Posted February 13, 2013 I have no luck with knowing what is what haha. You all are much better at finding Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 18, 2013 Author Report Posted February 18, 2013 Pretty cheap 2012 NYC bid book. Would recommend buying! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2012-New-York-Olympic-Bid-Book-RARE-/271157063790?pt=US_Olympics_Fan_Shop&hash=item3f2238706e&_uhb=1#ht_2097wt_1596 1 Quote
Lord David Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 Yeah, watching that one. Dunno, maybe. I already know much about that bid anyways. If it wasn't so sloppy (where they were forced to change main venues during the bid) then my consideration for it might be a bit bigger. Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 19, 2013 Author Report Posted February 19, 2013 Eh I thought it was a good book. Not happy Someone outbid me on the Melbourne books. Was willing to go as high as $140 plus the $30 postage. But $200 plus $30 is too much. If it had the case and stickers on the front of all books I probably would but i'll let this one go. Hope whoever gets it enjoys it... not. Quote
Lord David Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 I paid 500 for mine a couple of years back, came with the slipcase (no sticker on that though). Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 So I should have bought them? Haha Oh well. Hope more come up or ill just save Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 22, 2013 Author Report Posted February 22, 2013 Unsure whether to buy the berlin books or wait to see if anything new pops up.. Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 24, 2013 Author Report Posted February 24, 2013 I see someone bid on the NYC book. Was it anyone here? 1 Quote

Olympic Fan Darcy Posted March 11, 2013 Author Report Posted March 11, 2013 I have the Manchester 1996 hardback bid book....... and looking to sell (email me at peterb107 AT btinternet DOT COM) How much? Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted March 11, 2013 Author Report Posted March 11, 2013 A picture Peter sent me Quote
Lord David Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 I want more proof. For all we know this could just be a condensed version produced as part of the bid, like a mini bid book. I know Atlanta produced a 2 book commemorative edition and Melbourne offered a small bid book brochure. Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted March 12, 2013 Author Report Posted March 12, 2013 eeeek. I already said $100 for it. He's sent me pictures and stuff. I don't want to lose my money over it. Here's the ebay link. BTW: Clear your messages http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MANCHESTER-1996-OLYMPIC-BID-BOOK-RARE-OLYMPIC-MEMORABILIA-/350737487627?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D6188895200073982541%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D350737487627%26#ht_795wt_1271 Quote

I think 1976 is. It's been on eBay before and has sold. Here's the link to the site which shows past auction results. Olympic Fan Darcy Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 Well I recieved the Manchester book. Unsure if it's the real deal. I message TNMP before I bought it cause I saw somewhere he said he has/had it. He hasn't replied however. I guess we will find out. $110 isn't too bad if it's the real thing if not oh well. Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted March 25, 2013 Author Report Posted March 25, 2013 I see every single L.A bid book sold. Maybe someone hoping for a 2024 L.A bid haha Quote
Lord David Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-YORK-NYC-2012-OLYMPIC-GAMES-BID-BOOK-CANDIDATE-CITY-LONDON-2012-OLYMPIA-/221207193149?pt=Sport_1&hash=item3380f9e63d NYC and Paris 2012 too. I already have a Paris one. As for NYC 2012, not worth it for that price. The bid was sloppy at times, especially when the West Side Stadium plan failed. Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted March 29, 2013 Author Report Posted March 29, 2013 Ridiculous price. I paid $80 total for NYC, Paris $150 both including postage. There the only 2 that seems to pop up. No new ones. Quote
