bairrosfelipe Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Whatever. This positive agenda is not going to save her from the massive booing which awaits her on August 5, 2016. It will be really unfair. Quote

phandrosis Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 It looks like it's more towards the top, making it seem like the first leak was upside down?? Quote
gotosy Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Rio 2016While it doesn’t appear in full... another little piece of the #Rio2016Torch! 1 Quote
Throne Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Should the bits continue to be this impressive, it will most be an aesthetic ace. Rather intriguing. Quote
Rob2012 Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 So far, so standard. Nothing really stands out from those teasers, but nothing makes me worry either. Come on Rio, just show us the damn thing! Quote
baron-pierreIV Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Rio 2016While it doesn’t appear in full... another little piece of the #Rio2016Torch! Wait. That's in my shower!! 1 Quote
Ikarus360 Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Very simple design, though at least elegant. Guess they wanted to play it safe after all the criticism the Sochi torch got. 1 Quote
bairrosfelipe Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 What was the problems with the Sochi torch? Quote
Ikarus360 Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 ^^ Many (at least here in GB) thought it was overdesigned and the big frame (which was supossed to represent a Firebird feather) made it look chunky. Not mentioning the torch had a lot of issues such as the fire getting suddenly extinguished in many awkward moments. A record number of 44 times, to be exact, making it one of the worst torches ever, technicaly speaking. Quote
bairrosfelipe Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 It will probably be a very elegant torch actually also ecological sustainably. My unique disappointment is not seeing many references to Brazilian culture and desing of the Rio games. We'll see tomorrow, the torch will be revealed 11am in the Brasilia time! Quote

Throne Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Of course, The London Torch established the benchmark of excellence in design and creativity. Where the medals are concerned, Vancouver and Beijing were unsurpassed. Quote

No, The Moscow Times stopped counting the flame-outs at "44" by the 8th week on Russian soil becuz it had become so embarrassing. And no one took count of the flame-outs on the Greek run. So at "least 44x;" but obviously there were a few more before and after. Edited July 3, 2015 by baron-pierreIV Quote
phandrosis Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Looks like we have something to look forward to today! Quote

bairrosfelipe Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Olympics Rio 2016 innovates again! Congratulations to the committee and Brazil! 1 Quote
DannyelBrazil Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 I loved it! The opening colors is a nice touch and with the yellow of the flame, there will be a nice Brazilian colors represented. Quote
Usa2024olympics Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 I get what they were trying to do with the green as the mountains and the blue as water but towards the bottom it gets a bit too plain. Quote
DannyelBrazil Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 It only opens when lit... Nice touch! I get what they were trying to do with the green as the mountains and the blue as water but towards the bottom it gets a bit too plain. but the plain part is where the hand is placed... 1 Quote
