gotosy
some comments from Autosport Speaking to AUTOSPORT about the Lotus situation, Anderson said: "The aerodynamic loads on the car are higher in Barcelona than in Jerez, so that could explain why the problem didn't manifest itself at Jerez. "Reading between the lines, I would say it was likely to be something to do with a mount rather than the front suspension, as if it was a suspension problem you could have a good go at patching it up at the track with a glue injection and fastenings to hold it in situ. "The fact that Lotus has pulled out of the whole test rather than going back to the factory to patch it up and then run later in the week suggests it's a serious problem. Unless it is something that is too severe to fix so quickly or that you need to produce new parts to solve." http://www.autosport...rt.php/id/97620 Lotus' Boullier has confirmed the team will be on track when the third and final four-day test gets under way in Barcelona from March 1. gotosy
The HRT team will not be allowed to race in tomorrow's Australian Grand Prix after failing to qualify on Saturday. Neither Pedro de la Rosa nor team-mate Narain Karthikeyan managed a lap within the 107 per cent of the quickest time in Q1. Although the Spanish squad requested permission to race, the stewards said the team will not be allowed to take part in the season opener. http://www.autosport...rt.php/id/98128
Rob2012
I've just watched the highlights on BBC. We're in for one hell of a season I think. McLaren quickest in qualifying but over a race distance who knows, Mercedes look good, so do Lotus, Red Bull also look quick but other teams have caught up with them. Ferrari are as bad as I've seen them in recent years and I think I include 2009 in that. Their car looks shocking and considering they started development on it earlier than any team apart from Mercedes that's not good enough really. The midfield is closer than ever too which should mean some good racing. HRT looking like a bit of a joke though. Never thought after last year they'd be running their car for pretty much the first time in qualifying again and nearly 8 seconds off the pace again. Completely right that they shouldn't be anywhere near tomorrow's race (and next week's too probably) - mobile chicane would be too kind a description. But that dissapointment aside, and Ferrari's undriveable car aside, things look to be shaping up really nicely. And I'm looking forward to seeing Kimi racing through the pack tomorrow after the cock-up in qualifying. Lastly, the cars are much less forgiving than before without EBD sticking them to the track, so we should get a much better idea how the drivers are relative to one another. Loving this season already!

Westfale
Who do you prefer as World Champion this season? Button or Hamilton? I think it will one of them.
Rob2012
I'd love either of them to win, but I'd prefer Hamilton. I think when he's really on it he's the most exciting driver in F1. We haven't seen him at his best for a while though, and not consistently on top of his game for a couple of years (I think 2009 was a good year for him given the car he had for much of it, 2010 decent enough until a few silly crashes in the final races, 2011 was his only bad year in F1). I think it's way to early to say it'll be a McLaren WDC though. Vettel matured hugely last year and there aren't many chinks in his armour anymore. I think he's good enough to win it without having the fastest car now (and that's assuming Red Bull don't up their game which is not something I'd bet on). Alonso ditto (he nearly did it in 2010). Even Webber I think could be a threat this year as he seems to like the new RBR car.
Bezzi
Just saw the race in VT, this time is horrible to follow live. It was a good race. Will be interesting the fight between the RBR and Mclarean during the season. Aftera bad qualify Raikkonen was very good on his return. Massa's race was depressing, he will hardly remain in the Ferrari next season. Too bad what happened to Maldonado.

Rob2012
Was listening to it on the radio and I'll edit my comments later if after watching the highlights I'm wrong. I think Alonso had a brilliant race, the Ferrari looks good in the wet (certainly in his hands) and so did Perez. Amazing Alonso is leading the Championship given how poor that car is in normal conditions. Sure he had some luck with the conditions today and with the pit-stops, but he also showed his class, speed, and coolness. Made-up for Perez too; he really deserved that second spot with the way he raced. Looking at the pace I don't think Hamilton could've got the win today against Alonso but had both his pit-stops gone to plan I think he'd have had a great shot at 2nd place. So pretty much the same as last week again for Hamilton; not quick enough for the win but pit-stops buggering up his chances for second place. Very annoying. So, THE big question, do we think Perez could replace Massa before the season is out? Lots of speculation.
gotosy
Bahrain Grand Prix to go ahead as scheduled - FIA (Reuters) - The Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix will go ahead as scheduled next week, the governing FIA said in a statement on Friday, despite the potential for more anti-government protests like those which forced the cancellation of the race last year. "Based on the current information the FIA has at this stage, it is satisfied that all the proper security measures are in place for the running of a Formula One World Championship event in Bahrain," said the International Automobile Federation statement. "Therefore, the FIA confirms that the 2012 F1 Grand Prix of Bahrain will go ahead as scheduled." http://uk.reuters.co...E83B0HX20120413

Chateau Petrus
I'm pretty sure there's a Ferarri shop on Regents Street Thanks for the info. I allready knew about that store and also the one for Lotus Team (also on Regent St.) I'm not looking for that type of goods since everything will be available for me in few weeks in Montreal when I will attend the Canadian Grand Prix. I'm looking more fore old memorabilia from the 80's and 90's like old Silverstone race program or everything related to Kimmi Raikonnen debut on Sauber Petronas and McLaren.
