It is a bohemian/alternative type of area that is contained around a number of streets in the northern part of Manchester city centre. I won't post any pics of the main sights of Manchester as I have done that before. Here are some of the actual area of the city where I live. The cafe next to my flat. A few local shops and one of my local bars. Another one of the numerous bars and restaurants in the Northern Quarter. The Northern Quarter is characterised by lots of narrow streets. It is often used as a film set to depict 1940'S New York. Captain America was filmed here. A typical Northern Quarter street being used for filming. A street party just outside my flat last year. Public art is everywhere in the Northern Quarter.

Citius Altius Fortius Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 I am living in a residential area, which is under monument protection - the complete residential area was built in the late 20s/ early 30s of the last century. An achitect, who won the competition, built the central building and the other architects were allowed to built the other houses. Here is an old pic after the completion - today the area is very green, since there are lot of trees and especially the backyard of the central building - I live in this central building. During the war the area was partly badly damaged, but rebuilt in the original way
