No, I don't. Not this time. Even if there are no attacks, I assume there will probably be daily reports of threats. I think the IOC is going to be very happy to see Sochi in its rear-view mirror. These Games are a huge stain on the Olympic Movement and are really damaging the IOC's brand.

The way the IOC is dealing with Sochi Russia will even damage more to the IOC then to Russia the IOC has lost it's integrity, The IOC under Dr Jacques Rogge lost it's moral compass and values in dealing with discrimination and Olympic Values, The IOC was very well respected under Juan Antonio Samaranch the humanitarian.

The IOC need to go back to it's roots under the fair play and standing up for Human Rights, The Salt Lake Bribery is nothing compared to how the IOC is dealing with Russia it is really damage the IOC standing in the world.

I think he meant Samaranch the authoritarian.

Not sure how to take that - does that mean I have to start counting down to NSW Bank Holiday weekend in my Sydney, my Australia?

Doping test positives hit Olympic hosts

Three unidentified biathlon athletes, from Sochi Olympics hosts Russia and Lithuania, have failed doping tests and have been provisionally suspended.

Biathlon ruling body the IBU has announced the positive tests and says the International Olympic Committee has been informed due to the proximity to the Sochi Winter Games which start on February 7.

The IBU did not say when and where the samples were taken, or for what substance the athletes tested positive.

"Four adverse analytical findings were obtained in samples of three IBU athletes from Russia and Lithuania. The outcome of the test showed the presence of a non-specific substance," the IBU said.

The samples are said to have been taken in out-of-competition tests during the Christmas break.

Biathlon has seen several doping cases in the past and they have also involved Russian athletes. Albina Akhatova, Ekaterina Ioureva and Dmitri Iaroshenko were caught using EPO and banned shortly before the 2009 world championships.

Finland's Kaisa Varis was banned for life in 2008 over a second offence, the first coming during her cross-country skiing career.

Austrians Wolfgang Perner and Wolfgang Rottmann are among other sanctioned athletes.

IBU general secretary Nicole Resch said recently that the IBU is "conducting more tests than necessary" and have "a good anti-doping programme, which has also been confirmed by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). If someone dopes we find him."

Really? Did you have something to intelligent to add? How did that post move any of us anywhere?

Maybe if you stop trying to be smart and criticise everything I say, the atmosphere would ease up.

Oh, please. I'm not trying to "be" anything. I'm trying to get YOU to wake up, smell the coffee and take some responsibility instead of polluting the boards with garbage. Over and out.

There. I take responsibility. I didn't mean to mess things up. I will think more before posting.

Heard that one before. Taking responsibility means actually doing that, not simply hitting the reset button and then continue to conduct yourself the way you do. I know you're trying to ingratiate yourself into the community here and will give you a little latitude as a result, but you really need to work on your etiquette here so you don't have to keep apologizing for yourself

Right going back to topic. I think the Games will be alot better than the Build up in terms of the Sporting Side. Some great Facilities, and great athletes. The build up has been really bad, but I am sure on the 23rd February, most will say the Sport was good.
