^Alright that was simply a post to boost your post count.

Honestly, believe it or not I don't really try and get a high post count. I just went on the Sochi 2014 Website and noticed it is 50 Days till Opening Ceremony, I like my landmarks and milestones.

Asperger's? (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

No I don't have Asperger's, but since you brought it up I do have OCD and Tourettes.

Wow. Just.. wow.

Tony, there's a thread in this section called Sochi 2014 - Venues Updates Gallery. We get that you're a newbie here and trying to integrate yourself into the discussion, but please keep in mind that we've all been here for months, even years discussing these topics that you just now are coming in and want to bring up. No one here should be getting on your case for being over-eager, but again, what you're doing is almost the equivalent of you showing up in the middle of a movie and asking everyone around you to catch you up on what you missed.

Thank You. I do know what the Venues look like. But Thanks.

To bring this back to slightly more relevant things:

Putin announced an amnesty today, including freeing the Pussy Riot girls and even ex-oligarch Khodorkovsky.

Obviously a little treat since it's now (as we well know) 50 days until Sochi...doubt it will mean a permanent change of climate.

Perhaps he knows the attention of the world is about to be on his country and now is the time to start putting up that facade for the rest of the world to see. I don't think it indicates any sort of change in Russia. To me, something like this is all for show and little more.

You asked how the snow venues are progressing. That's where you'll likely get the answer to that question and/or initiate some discussion on the topic. Once again Tony.. we've been here talking about these things for months now. You asked in another thread what does everyone want from you? What we want is some consideration for the fact you're trying to start a conversation we're already having (or already had). You seem to be obvlious to this fact. You will be accepted once you seem a little less over-eager and participate in the discussion that's going on rather than throwing out topics we're already covered here.

Sochi is obviously in lockdown as much of London (certainly the Olympic park) was during 2012. It seems the terrorists know this and are trying a different tactic by targetting other places in the build-up. The IOC can release as many statements as they want about security being ok in Sochi during the Games but that doesn't seem to be the point if Sochi is only going to be the calm in the middle of the storm.

Hope I'm wrong.

They knew not to bomb us Londoner's, we were ready just in case.

No, we weren't.

If a terrorist wanted to bomb a railway station in London or a bus in the way that happened in Volgograd they would've killed people. You can't lock down an entire city the size of London. The Olympic Park was in lockdown; that would've been hard to bomb given the huge security around it, but to claim we could prevent attacks like those that happened in Russia is wrong. If a terrorist chose a weak enough target like a bus during London 2012 they would've succeeded.

We're lucky we don't have militant separatists who want to bomb our city (anymore). That's the difference.

The Olympic Flame is going through the Islamic stronghold in Russia with in 10 days of the Opening Ceremony I don't feel that things will go down well there if anything today was an warning the Olympic Flame will be in Volgograd on the 19 - 20th of January 2014.The Olympic Flame will be in Chechnys on the 28th of January and Chechnys is home to lots of Islamist rebels who love to see the Sochi Games to go up in smoke to make Putin dream to go up in smoke.
