Alexjc 354
Pakistan all out for 160...West Indies feeling a little more pride rebuilt after that defeat to Ireland.
Alexjc 354
Looks like we have our first washout in the CWC. Australia v Bangladesh still a no go at the Gabba as heavy rain pours down...
arwebb 133
Abandoned without a ball being bowled. Bonus point for Bangladesh. Drifted in and out of the West Indies v Pakistan game. I think we have now found a team almost as bad as us.
Alexjc 354
Abandoned without a ball being bowled. Bonus point for Bangladesh. Drifted in and out of the West Indies v Pakistan game. I think we have now found a team almost as bad as us. They did the Duckworth Lewis calculation on yesterday's NZL v ENG match if rain hit in the NZ innings....NZ would've needed -12 runs to win if the match was stopped at the (stupid) lunch break! Alexjc 354
In Dunedin today... Sri Lanka v Afghanistan Sri Lanka chasing 232 after a good effort by the minnows...Not making it easy for the former world champs to chase either. In Melbourne, Mega Clash at the MCG. South Africa v India....India simply too strong. Edited February 22, 2015 by Alexjc
Alexjc 354
Clash of the border today... And it's suddenly an important match... England v Scotland at Hagley Oval. A must win for England and Scotland know it...They'll just know their big brothers south of the border are wounded. Edited February 22, 2015 by Alexjc
arwebb 133
Disappointingly one-sided game between India and South Africa today. India now looking far stronger than just a few weeks ago.
Scotguy 330
C'mon boys, send them homewards, to think again
arwebb 133
England somehow unchanged for the game against Scotland. Can't believe that one.
Alexjc 354
Well England decided to show up and bat first in Christchurch. Making 303/8 Scotland simply unable to overhaul the total fast running out of wickets and balls 150/7...so far.
Alexjc 354
All wrapped up in Christchurch Scotland all out for 184. Just wondering if they won the toss it would've been different. Still at least England can walk away with some little pride.
Rob. 2046
caught the first hour or so before going to sleep and fully expected to wake up to a victory. Didn't let us down. Sounded like a professional but unexciting job against limited opposition. Onto Sri Lanka next...
Scotguy 330
Considering cricket in Scotland is such a minor sport, can't imagine many people know we have a cricket team, i think our boys are doing us proud down under
Rob. 2046
Yeah, fair point. Cricket on BBC Radio with bagpipes playing in the background is a strange, strange thing.
arwebb 133
Good to get on the board at last, but the performances of all the Associate nations so far shows how stupid the decision to reduce the tournament to 10 teams for 2019 in England really is. Alexjc 354
Good to get on the board at last, but the performances of all the Associate nations so far shows how stupid the decision to reduce the tournament to 10 teams for 2019 in England really is.It is just soooo bloody long a tournament as is...They could've compressed it using the four time zones, but didn't. 12 teams with two pools of six could work . 2019 only has GMT so really can't be helped. Another thing is the weather...it's turning into autumn and cyclone season bringing the heavy late summer ran as the Gabba found out a few days ago. They started this tournament two weeks too late! IMHO, this WC doesn't have the same magical feel of 1992's...I still think Ireland is a one trick only at this tournament. At the moment all I can see is Australia, NZ, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa(at a stretch) being of anything worth it for now.
Alexjc 354
Yet again just the one match... Canberra West Indies v Zimbabwe A steady start so far. Could've got a match played in NZ as well...This is the reason why the WC drags on....
Alexjc 354
Ireland v UAE in Brisbane today UAE batting first 124/4 so far...
Alexjc 354
Chalk two up for Ireland after they chased down UAEs 279 with 2 wickets and four balls to spare and the GABBA this evening!
yoshi 353
Looking like Ireland are gonna be in the QFs & England aren't
Alexjc 354
Scotland v Afghanistan in Dunedin today Scotland batting first, not a great start at 44/3 in the 14th over. Sri Lanka v Bangladesh in Melbourne this afternoon...
Alexjc 354
Afghanistan walks away with it's first win at a CWC, overhauling Scotland's 210 in the 50th over with no wickets and 3 balls to spare.
Alexjc 354
Here's the ridiculousness of playing first tier nations against minnows. Sri Lanka 331/1...Bangladesh unable to overhaul the total all out for 240 at the MCG tonight.
Durban Sandshark 155
Afghanistan walks away with it's first win at a CWC, overhauling Scotland's 210 in the 50th over with no wickets and 3 balls to spare. Confirming how these days all of Scotland's premier national sports teams are rubbish
Alexjc 354
Our first four tonner in today's match in Sydney. South Africa v West Indies SA batted first posting 408/5 West Indies have a long night ahead to chase it down.
