Galandar
Intellectual Transport Management System to be launched in Baku until the end of 2011 The system analogue to the one in Seoul is being created by South Korean specialists. Its value is estimated at 100 million USD today. Initial price of the system was about 77 million USD and the increase of the costs associated with the improvement of some of the system's functions, in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' decision on the implementation of several measures to prevent terrorist acts. In particular an increase in video streaming and recording was needed and the number of information terminals was increased to 664 units. Further, the number of Baku street information boards rose from 20 to the current 48 units. Within the system 639 new bus stops have been installed and about 140 sites for taxis have been created. These operations are conducted jointly with the Azerbaijani traffic police and the Korean specialists involved in the installation of the intellectual system. The new system also envisages the installation of additioal 150 electronic traffic lights. The system to be the first in CIS countries is primarily oriented to manage urban public transport first in Baku, then in the Absheron Peninsula and other territory of the country. 25 October 2011 President.az
Galandar
Some 100 underground parking lots to be built in Baku Studies carried out by the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry revealed that it is necessary to build around 100 underground parking lots in Baku, Sadraddin Mamedov, Head of the Transport Ministry's Transport Policy and Economy Division, told reporters on Thursday. "Currently, there are several underground parking lots under construction in Baku; particularly, one of them is being built by the Baku Executive Power at a site opposite the Government House," Mamedov said. He said there will be carried out works to initiate construction of another 15 underground parking lots next year. "It is essential to build parking lots to relief traffic at the capital's roads and prevent parking at road borders, particularly, at prohibited places," the Ministerial official said. As reported earlier, large parking lots will be opened at the city's all entrances: near to subway station Meshedi Azizbekov, Baku Bus Station, Azneft Square, Zykh side entrance, and subway station Halglar Dostlugu. Surface and underground parking lots have been under construction since 2011 and their value will be estimated depending on design. The projects of construction of parking lots may have different sources of financing, including state budget assets, loans by international financial organizations such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and private sector's money. Currently, there is drafted a Baku urban transport development investment program, under which the Asian Development Bank (ADB) plans to assign a loan of $300 million. The ADB will be prepared to disburse the first tranche of the loan in 2013. 3 November 2011 /Trend/

747
I can't believe anyone thinks this chity should be bidding for the Olympics. The very best shots here are nothing more than things you see in a suburb of San Diego or Phoenix. And all those god-awful basic decorative marble transit halls look like bathrooms in a bad restaurant. This is really bad. The best thing is the Subway canopy that is an EXACT rip off of the new DC Metro canopy's.

This is just some under construction infrastructure projects which has nothing to do with the best shots of the city. p.s. I lived in US and for God's sake subway of NYC is the most ugliest one I have ever used in my life. Get rid of your rats first before expressing your opinion on thing you have no idea about Baku is currently removing its ferry port from the downtown location to the outside of the city.
