England v New Zealand tonight...History being made as this is the first time both teams face each other in a three test series plus the annual derby in Twickenham.

At the IRB U20 RW Champs in Auckland last night, a portent threat to the future for NZ was the host nation going down to South Africa 33 - 24 in a Springbok forward pack dominated game. Only towards the end, and in desperation did the Young ABs crawl back to a more bearable loss. IMO NZ could be entering that autumn era of the natural cycle where things slide back for a bit.

As predicted in the first NZ v Eng test...A rusty start by the All Blacks and a giving it their all England. Kicking all the way...

Half Time:

NZ 9 v Eng 9

Phewwweeee was that a test!

Full Time

NZ 20 v Eng 15, in an absolutely heart pounding cliffhanger!

England really gave it and are NO pushovers. And they were understrength?

Still this was NZs first test for the season and usually get a lesser team to hit first up!...Not A Superpower like England!

Roll on Dunedin and Hamilton!

Critical match tonight...

England has the double edge of needing to win to keep the series alive AND knowing that on the other side of the hemisphere, England takes on Italy in the roundball game!

I am not writing off England tonight against the All Blacks!

SECOND TEST in Dunedin's Forsyth Bar Stadium. (England have played here more than NZ!)

England on the board early...

ENG 10 - NZL 0

...quarter way through...

England still in control, shutting the All Blacks down...very strong defense and powerful attack.

ENG 10 - NZL 3

...at halftime...

ENG 10 - NZL 6.

Very intense England controlled game. All Black simply not cohesive, and Richie McCaw needs to come off.

Second half...Second Test in Dunedin...

NZL 6 - ENG 10

Not so intense start but still up there...

All Blackscut open the England defence - Try!

NZL 13 - ENG 10

penalty Eng, 13 all.

All Blacks opening up,

Try unconverted NZL

NZL 18 - ENG 13

Three Quarter mark...

England now losing discipline, yellow card. All Blacks a far different side from the first half.

NZL 21 - ENG 13

Now the All Blacks pull away taking advantage of England one player down...Try converted (Ma'a Nonu)

NZL 28 - ENG 13.

England back at full strength.

England fightback with a deserved but contentious try.

NZL 28 - ENG 20

England final try but not enough!

NZL 28 - ENG 27

FULL TIME...

Both teams VERY VERY EQUAL IN INTENSITY.

A better game this week from the all blacks despite the close score. I am going to the game next week in Hamilton so hopefully they step up next week. Barret should start next week ahead of Cruden.

IRB is going to check on the TMOs decision in not judging that try a non try. It's all in the wording, the TMO knew the ball didn't ground, so that now means the ball carrier's arm is an extension of the ball? The ref knew the TMO said this is what happened so the ref got it wrong.

I am pleased the IRB is going to check that decision. It was a terrible decision actually!

England v Canterbury Crusaders.

A rarely seen spectacle seen these days, and International team playing a provincial side. Not since 1994 has this happened in Christchurch.

England wearing a special jersey with the Earthquake Relief Fund logo on it. Christchurch misses out on top tier matches due to the temporary nature of AMI Showgrounds Stadium.

England very strong against a Crusaders side without its current ABs on board.

Eng 26 - Can 7

...so far at halftime.

Second Half underway...England first points.

33 - 7

Full time

Eng 38 - Can 7

Proving that without a full strength team, provincial sides cannot compete but still a great spectacle for a region that seems to miss alot these days.

Definitely all the off season rust has been cleaned off the All Blacks this week.

Nothing but polish.

England having very ordinary first half, not with the intensity of the first two tests.

NZL 29 - ENG 6

Halftime

Second Half

...away we go...England more awake, got the first try but after a long and very even sided half a final hooter try by the ABs end the series.

But England had a very good set piece game...And there is still nothing in it. After England finally woke up for the second half.

Fulltime

NZL 36 - ENG 13.

New Zealand clean sweep the series but not by a landslide and England will only ever get better and could even prove tougher in the annual Twickenham Derby in November.

Full stadiums in NZ for England proves the respect they now have up there with South Africa and Australia.

Russia and Uruguay World Cup play-off dates set

Paris (AFP) - Russia will look to post a convincing victory over Uruguay in the first leg of their 2015 Rugby World Cup play-off in Siberia to give themselves a chance of securing a return trip the finals.

The Russians -- who made their debut at the 2011 tournament -- edged out Zimbabwe in the repechage semi-finals and will host Uruguay, who have appeared at two World Cups, in Krasnoyarsk on September 27 with the return leg in Montevideo on October 11.

The first leg will be refereed by George Clancy of Ireland while France`s Romain Poite will take charge of the second leg.

A place in Pool A is the prize for the winners.

Waiting for them in a very tough pool will be hosts and 2003 champions England, two-time former champions Australia, two-time semi-finalists Wales and 2007 quarter-finalists Fiji.

Trans Tasman Mega Clash in Sydney Olympic Stadium this Saturday with the first Bledesloe Cup match between the Wallabies and All Blacks. Being hyped up on both sides of the ditch but very much a pointer to next year. Australia has home advantage this year. And a team very much comming into form. The All Blacks are about to pass a first class record of being undefeated since 2012.

- 41 team bases selected for use at Rugby World Cup 2015

- 20 competing teams will be based across England and Wales

- Team bases selected in consultation with the teams to ensure optimum training environment

- Range of rugby clubs, schools, colleges, universities and dedicated training centres have been selected

- Team bases extend the reach of Rugby World Cup 2015 to even more communities in England and Wales

Communities across the length and breadth of England and Wales will share in the excitement of hosting Rugby World Cup 2015 after tournament organisers England Rugby 2015 and owners Rugby World Cup Limited announced the selection of team base camps.

With Rugby at heart, a selection of 41 venues from the University of Exeter in the south to Newcastle Royal Grammar School in the north, extend the reach of the showcase tournament, while delivering the stage for the world’s best teams to perform to their potential.

CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FULL LIST OF TEAM BASES >>

The search for team bases was launched via an open tender process in April 2013 and just under 100 bids were received from across the country and in Wales. All prospective team bases were subject to a rigorous selection process which included an expansive and detailed programme of site visits as well as liaison with the competing Rugby World Cup 2015 teams.

A Rugby World Cup 2015 team base will consist of an outdoor and indoor training facility, a swimming pool, gym and hotel and will be utilised by the competing teams in the lead up to and during the six-week event. The facilities must meet international team training standards and be located on one site or within close proximity of one another. Match venue locations have also been taken into account as part of the selection programme.

A mix of rugby clubs, schools, colleges, universities and dedicated training facilities will be utilised by the 20 teams, taking the reach of the tournament even further. Eight bases have also been selected for use during the knock-out phase of the tournament.
