Overall, apart from SAF v JPN, hasn't really fired in the first full week... Hoping the two top end clashes today light up the place...If the refs can handle their own decision making. SCOTLAND 39 - USA 16 States giving Scotland a bit of a hurry up to begin with but were eventually ground down...Scotland now looking forward to their clash with South Africa on Saturday. IRELAND 44 - Romania 10 Largest RWC attendance ever at 89 900. Ireland fancied to be the top Six Nations team at this tournament. Today: TONGA 35 - Namibia 21. The bottom of the table clash, both teams really not in it anymore...but great to see Namibia piling on points for respectable loss results. Even that's going to be tough for them. Forget Argentina. The USA put up a good effort with Scotland. But like with past RWCs involving the Americans, they just don't quite have enough quality to make onto the upper echelon. Even if Todd Clever was on the team right now. Wales now with one foot in the QF door but really had to work hard against the determined Fiji who would've been desperate to take 3rd in pool for easy 2019 qualification. Not writing them off though as their recent history playing Australia is in their favor. If Australia beats them but England scores four or more tries...then they scrape through on the good chance that Wales can't beat Australia. England winning with the extra bonus point will take the pressure off somewhat. Wales may regret not getting that extra bonus point over Fiji. New Zealand will most likely follow France into the Quarters tonight unless something phenomenally stupendous happens...which seems to be occurring a lot at this tournament. On of the rarest events in NZ actually supporting an Australian side more than whoever else they are playing. IMHO Australia will scrape home a tight win if they do. No bonus points. England will come out all guns blazing and will win using it's Scrum and kick it's way out of trouble. A Try fest is on offer if Australia can open up the easy to crack England defences. Have now actually qualified for the 2019 tournament even though they go through as next host nation. Gives Japan more credability as a growing Rugby nation instead of have the jibe "you are only in because you are hosts" hanging over them. Great effort.
