GDL 2011 Opening Ceremony Livechat

Oh wait..they're leaving the stage. If the rumours that i read were true we're going to see a mass brass band to perform typical american songs during the parade

The trumpetist reminds me of Sydney 2000 fanfare for some reason XD

Argentina is opening the parade as the tradition.

Nice placards XD. They seem like sign posts from the Wild West

The flags of the teams are being projected at the circular stage.

And we're going to hear prerecorded music for the parade like in Torino 2006...great =_=

The stage area seems very small, so I assume were gonna see mostly musical acts rather than segments like in Olympic or Commonwealth ceremonies?

And now, Brazil, previous host of the Pan Am Games, enters B)

Their costumes are so colorful (and the pattern seems reminiscing of the Copacabana sidewalk). Even better than the ones they used in 2007 if you ask me

Christine Sinclair is carrying the Maple Leaf flag

Chile. The original flagbearer got positive at doping so David Dubbo replaced her at last minute

Our neighbours, Colombia :) . Mariana Pajon carries the tricolor
