intoronto 650
Solid win from New Zealand, but didnt expect anything else really. Loosing to Tahiti was unfortunate back in the OFC cup and seeing NZL win and them lose all but confirms NZL two wins away from Brazil

Ikarus360 599
You forgot to add Venezuela 2 - 0 Paraguay. Glad for our team but that defeat with Peru left us in a bad situation I'm totally surprised Paraguay is at the last place. o.o Also in other note, the fan which entered the press conference and insulted Cesar Farias (Venezuela's coach) and his family was completly pathetic. Rob. 2038
So, a Ukrainian player goes down holding his face after being 'brushed' aside by Defoe - who didn't touch his face - thus costing England the opening goal. I don't want to make the comparison with the fair-play almost universally on show during the Olympics because most footballers are good-eggs, but it's really hard not to. The football season's back, and so are the cheats.
intoronto 650
(^) Exactly cheating needs to be cut off. Panama's players were dropping left and right yesterday acting as if they were injured
Olympian2004 511
So Team Germany got a good clean start (albeit some difficulties in both matches against the Faroe Islands and Austria) into these qualifiers. I think it will be very difficult for them to keep a clean sheet in this group. Sweden and Ireland are tough opponents, and as we saw on Tuesday, Austria has to be taken seriously, too. gotosy 493
Sudan stripped of World Cup points Fifa has stripped Sudan of its 2-0 win against Zambia in a 2014 World Cup qualifier because one of its scorers was ineligible to play. The disciplinary committee of football's world governing body ruled that Saif Ali should not have played in the 2 June game in Khartoum. Zambia protested that Ali played despite receiving yellow cards in previous competitive matches, including when Zambia beat Sudan in an African Cup of Nations quarter-final in February. Fifa declared the match "lost by forfeit by Sudan," awarding Zambia a 3-0 victory and with it the three points for a win. The Sudan football association has also been fined US$6,430. Zambia now leads Group D with six points from two matches, and Sudan falls to third place with one point. Ghana are in second place with three points while Lesotho are bottom with a single point. Rob. 2038
Wembley sell out for our match vs San Marino on Friday (prices reduced, a lot gone to familes and 8,000 have gone to Olympic Gamesmakers at a discount). Still, 90,000 people will be watching England play a team representing a nation of 32,000. And it'll be the biggest crowd San Marino have ever played in front of. So, we welcome Worst Team In the World to London on Friday. Hopefully we'll start off better than we did in 1993: Edited October 10, 2012 by RobH
