Same old; same old. I mean why do they go thru the whole expense and effort of qualifying games for TWO years when except for 3 or 4 teams, it's always all the same.

Because otherwise it's not a truly global competition, and there wouldn't be equal continental representation.

Seeded teams for Europe will be Portugal, Greece, Ukraine & Croatia.

I bet my ass Portugal will get Iceland.

No, based on current rankings the seeded teams will be Portugal, Greece, Croatia and Sweden, but given how close Sweden and France are, I wouldn't be surprised to see France move up ahead of Sweden in the World Rankings and be the fourth seeded team.

Mind you I'd rather France be unseeded and got drawn against Portugal. Would dearly love to see one of those teams out of the world cup. Would also like to see Iceland and Greece drawn against each other.

Glad to see Chile make it! :)

Two friendlies are announced for the German national team:

15th Nov 2013 - Mailand - Italy

5th Mar 2014 - Stuttgart - Chile

... and I heard that there should be another one with England at Nov 19th 2013, which wasn't able to be announced before England qualified directly..

Although Scotland did not make it to Brazil, there are definately some positives since Gordon Strachan has taken over as National Coach. 2 wins at home and away against Croatia and one in Macedonia.

Things are looking lightly more positive for Euro 2016 qualifying.

Congratulations to all teams that have qualified or made it to the playoff phase.

There is a calculator in the fifa site you can use to see how the new ranking will be after this matchday. With their defeat today, Sweden will drop below Ukraine. France will be below Ukraine just by 2 ranking points.

Costa Rica 2 - 1 Mexico

Panama 2 - 3 United States

Jamaica 2 - 2 Honduras

Honduras was the third qualified team from CONCACAF and Mexico will play with New Zealand for the play off. Seriously, I'm disgusted with Mexico. Terrible :angry::angry:

FMF should give US Soccer a giant fruit basket this Christmas should the Mexicans qualify for Brazil for that with the Americans saying "Onada". They were given a very serious lifeline thanks to those extra time goals. Mexico has been very dysfunctional in team play, execution, and chemistry. Thus, they constantly fall short after what seems at times to have breakthrough performances. Therefore, they don't really deserve to qualify. Imagine the furor across Mexico when they ultimately don't qualify, but it will be expected. Actually, I seriously think Mexico will have, even with the high altitude at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium, a very difficult time against a well-organized defensive team that New Zealand is in the first leg with them putting numbers behind the ball. Can the Mexicans create enough create quality chances to score and break down defenses? The All-Whites' major problem I can see initially will be that high altitude. Are they accustomed to it--can't recall when they last played, even in a friendly, in such a condition? But my money's on the All-Whites to perservere there and win a World Cup spot back in Wellington's Westpac Stadium (aka The Cake Tin) in front of their white-clad fans like against Bahrain. On the other hand, a wounded Mexico can be dangerous.

The young Americans were impressive with their no fear and pushed Jurgen Klinsmann to have more than deserving players. Condolences to Panama and their fans. It would be very nice to a see a fresh face in the World Cup out of CONCACAF, like Bosnia will be out of Europe. BTW, when will the Canadians return? Been seven World Cups since 1986 as a no-show (Teams that don't score in their debut World Cups certainly don't come back for a while, definitely not in the next ones)!

Obviously sport media in Mexico are attacking the football team at the moment. I remember their road to 2010 was also plagued with problems, and I can even recall one of the guys working in Fox Sports Latin America saying that it was better not to qualify to the WC if they were just going to make a ridicule. °_° that kinda tells how much dissapointed the fans are towards the Tri.

CAF

Tunisia 0 - 0 Cameroun

What a poor game this was. Tunisia ought to have been out of sight in the first 20 minutes but, after that, neither side really looked like winning it. Suspect Cameroon will be happier.

Apparently, November 19th at Wembley should be confirmed on Thursday, CAF. Great end to the FA's 150th anniversary celebrations.
