gotosy
N. Korea down bitter rivals Japan in W.Cup qualifierTOKYO — North Korea downed bitter rivals Japan 1-0 on Tuesday in a bad-tempered World Cup qualifier dripping with political tensions and littered with yellow cards. Pak Nam Chol's 50th-minute header avenged North Korea's September defeat in Tokyo and sparked delirious scenes from the packed crowd at Pyongyang's Kim Il Sung Stadium. But the hosts' first win in qualifying came too late to save their campaign, which was killed off last week by Uzbekistan, while Asian champions Japan were already through to the last round with 10 points from their first three games. ... Preparations for the game had also proved controversial after just 150 tickets were allocated for Japanese fans, who huddled silently in a corner of the stadium guarded by uniformed military officers. On Monday, reports said Japan were held up for four hours by a baggage and immigration inspection at a Pyongyang airport while dour officials told players not to laugh and confiscated their bananas, chewing gum and instant noodles. ... gotosy
Oceania quartet commence long roadJust over two years to the day since New Zealand’s historic qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, the long path to the global stage for Oceania nations will commence later today (22 november). American Samoa, Cook Islands, Tonga and host nation Samoa will comprise a quartet of teams in Round 1, with only the winner maintaining their Brazil 2014 ambitions. Three matches across five days provide little margin for error in the Samoan capital of Apia. The victors shall progress to Round 2, where they will be grouped with Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Tahiti. The other pool will feature Fiji, New Zealand, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. That tournament, to be held next June in Fiji, will double as the 2012 OFC Nations Cup, with qualification for the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 therefore in the offing. The four highest teams will also progress to Oceania’s third and final stage of Brazil 2014 qualifying. For now, though, the gaze of four Polynesian nations is very much on the coming week as the world’s greatest football tournament takes a foothold in a remote part of the globe. ... gotosy
Samoa advances to next OFC qualifying round American Samoa’s captivating run in Oceania’s World Cup qualifying ended Sunday with a 1-0 loss to Samoa on Silao Malo’s last-minute goal.American Samoa, 204th and last in FIFA rankings, captured world attention when it beat Tonga in its opening match at the four-nation, round-robin tournament, notching its first-ever international win. Another win Sunday would have seen it advance to the second round of qualifying, and the defense, based around center back Johnny Saelua — thought to be the world’s first transgender international — held strong until the 90th minute when Malo scored on a counterattack. ... http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/dcunited/samoa-wins-to-advance-in-world-cup-qualifying-ending-american-samoas-dream-run/2011/11/27/gIQAJrLg0N_story.html second round groups (2012 OFC Nations Cup) Group A - Vanuatu, New Caledonian, Tahiti and Samoa Group B - New Zealand, Fiji, Salomon Islands and Papua New Guinea the top two of each group will advance to next round

Qatar ties it up against Iran in the 88th minute. 2-2 now. And Bahrain was doing its part by beating Indonesia 9-0. Qatar would've been out if they lost to Iran, and if Bahrain beat Indonedia by at least 8 goals.
