Argentina 4-1 Chile

Borghi SHOULD resign. The new president of the Federation and the coach are doing exactly what Chile did in the worst time of its history as a team. I can't believe... Bielsa did so many things and in less than a year we are playing worst than ever. And all of this is President Piñera's fault.

Female Volleyball: Brazil 3 x 0 (with an incredible 25 x 6) - Brazil champions and qualified for London 2012

The brazilian women volleyball is not qualified for Olympics yet. As south American champions they advanced to the Fivb world cup, to be held in Japan, where the top three teams guarantee the Olympic berth

But based in recent results, its very probable that brazilian men and women volleball teams finish in the top 3 at WC ;)

Venezuela beats Argentina For 1st time in history

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Even a draw would have been momentous, but Venezuela went a step further by beating Argentina 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier for its first ever win over the South American heavyweights.

Venezuela had lost all 18 of its previous matches against Argentina, but Fernando Amorebieta's 61st-minute header turned the tables Tuesday night against a star-studded team captained by Lionel Messi and also including Real Madrid stars Angel Di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain.

FIFA announced the withdrawal of 189th-ranked Mauritius without specifying reasons.

Mauritius, which was chosen to host the 2013 FIFA Congress, was drawn to play Liberia in a home-and-away series on Nov. 11 and 15.

Japan to allow supporters to visit N. Korea for World Cup qualifier

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan will allow supporters of the national soccer team along with accompanying press to visit Pyongyang to watch a World Cup qualifier against North Korea later this month, top government spokesman Osamu Fujimura said Tuesday.

The decision is an exceptional measure to be taken by Japan, which has asked its nationals to refrain from visiting North Korea as part of sanctions imposed following North Korea's missile launch in July 2006.

The chief Cabinet secretary said at a news conference that the exception will only apply for members of the national team, and accompanying reporters and supporters who register for official tours organized by the Japan Football Association to attend the Nov. 15 qualifier for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Fujimura said the government decided to make an exception for the match because there is "great national interest." He also said the government believes it should avoid any negative feedback on Japan's bid to host international competitions such as the Olympics by not having politics interfere in sports activities.

According to JFA vice president Kozo Tashima, North Korea plans to only allow up to 150 Japanese supporters to enter the country. The JFA will continue to negotiate with North Korea about increasing the number, Tashima said.

...

The government will ban travelers from carrying goods to or from North Korea and ask them to notify the government if they intend to take over 100,000 yen in cash.

In August, Japan allowed the North Korean national team to enter the country for a World Cup qualifying match, in a similar exception to the ban in principle on North Koreans coming to Japan that was imposed in protest at Pyongyang's nuclear weapons testing in October 2006 among other bilateral issues.

Japan advance to next Asian qualifying round, China out

HONG KONG — Japan thumped Tajikistan 4-0 to advance into the final qualifying stage for the 2014 World Cup Friday but there will be no China after they lost to Iraq and Australia were shock losers to minnows Oman.

Uzbekistan join Japan in the next round after they squeezed past North Korea 1-0 at home, meaning the North are out, but their great rivals South Korea are all but there after a late double saw off a stubborn United Arab Emirates.

...

Also failing to make yet another World Cup are China, whose 1-0 defeat against Iraq means their chance has gone once more and is sure to lead to yet more disillusionment with the under-achieving national team back home.

Iraq left it late, prolific striker Younis Mahmoud snatching victory in Doha two minutes into injury time.

There was a major surprise in Muscat, where an 18th-minute strike from Amad Ali gave Oman a 1-0 win over Australia, who had gone into the Group D tie with a 100 percent record.

The Australians nevertheless still look sure to progress. Also nearly there are South Korea, who needed goals from Lee Keun-Ho in the 88th minute and Park Chu-Young deep into stoppage time to seal a 2-0 win over the UAE.

The Koreans can seal their spot in the final qualifying round with a draw against Lebanon in Beirut next week.

The winners and runners-up of the five groups will be drawn into two pools for the round-robin fourth stage, with the eventual top two in each section earning a ticket to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Another long wait for China.

And North Korea doesn't deserve to advance. They play 10 men back and all their games are 1-0 scores. Boring.

Looks like the regulars (South Korea, Japan, Australia) will advance to the next round. There's still a chance for Qatar to miss out if they lose to Iran and Bahrain, now that they've finished all their easy games.

The match against Uruguay was disgraceful. First, five players were expelled for drinking before the training... and now we have lost also the goalkeeper and the defenders. Borghi is doing such a terrible job. We can't have 10 goals against!

Bielsa, please come back!
