intoronto
Germany should contend for top spot but will not be easy with France/Serbia. France literally destroyed Canada to pieces couple of weeks back, the same Canadian team that beat France twice last year.

Athan
Group B is terrible, and then they will join group A for the next round... Group D, on the other hand, is a joke. And that's unfair, 1st and 2nd automatically qualify for the Olympics, and then only teams ranked 3rd-6th will play the qualifying tournament. Ending up worse than that means saying goodbye to London. In other words, at least 3 teams among Lithuania, Spain, Turkey, France, Germany, Italy and Serbia will not have the chance to reach the Olympic qualifying tournament, while at least 1 team theoretically of a lower level like Georgia, Bulgaria or Bosnia & Herzegovina will have it much easier. intoronto
Honestly Group E was the group of death. They need to expand to 16 basketball teams in men's category. 4 europe + 2 Americas + 1 Oceania + 1 Asia + 1 Africa + 1 host and 6 from wildcard tournament. Faster
Honestly Group E was the group of death. They need to expand to 16 basketball teams in men's category. 4 europe + 2 Americas + 1 Oceania + 1 Asia + 1 Africa + 1 host and 6 from wildcard tournament. An extra 4 teams is an extra 100 people and then football, field hockey, water polo and handball will say they want more teams and that could be a potential addition of over a 1000 people. Athan
Macedonia has just surprisingly beaten hosts Lithuania and will play the semifinals of a European championship for the first time in their history. Before that, in the other quarterfinal game of today, Spain had beaten Slovenia. Slovenia and Lithuania will meet tomorrow. The winner will qualify for the 2012 Olympic qualifying tournament, but the loser will lose any chance of qualifying for the Olympics. Spain and FYROM will meet on Friday in the semifinal. The winner will automatically qualify for London 2012, while the loser will play the Olympic qualifying tournament next year.
