olympiaki-agones Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 And everything will. History has stated that before. Athens and Turin did it on time. Quote
DannyelBrazil Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Seriously, how the Construction is speeding up is Good. It's Good progress and hopefully, everything is complete before the Opening Ceremony. Hopefully.... Hopefully you won't be repeating same posts several times in the next two years. BTW, more progress pictures Golf course Slalom venue already under works in Deodoro Slalom site one month ago Quote

Tony E Loves Architecture Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Somewhere between 0% and 100%. Obviously. Seriously, what's the actual Percentage that the Venues are Complete? An actual Number Please, not a between 0% and 100%, just 1 Number that it's Complete. Quote

An actual Number Please, not a between 0% and 100%, just 1 Number that it's Complete. No idea. But back in September the IOC reported that the Olympic village is at least 50% complete. However, the golf course may be in jeopardy of facing a delay http://www.lillooetnews.net/opinion/vocal-local/state-prosecutor-asks-work-be-halted-on-often-delayed-rio-de-janeiro-2016-olympic-golf-course-1.1601208 http://www.pga.com/news/industry-news/state-prosecutor-asks-work-olympic-golf-course-in-rio-be-halted Quote
Tony E Loves Architecture Posted November 24, 2014 Report Posted November 24, 2014 I reckon Construction will be finished only just before the Opening Ceremony. Delays were a problem, but it's Good to see the Construction speeding up. Quote
DannyelBrazil Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 I reckon Construction will be finished only just before the Opening Ceremony. Delays were a problem, but it's Good to see the Construction speeding up. You can't 'reckon' construction will be finished only just before the games. You say that based in what? You may think this is a likely scenario based in the mess of delivering the World Cup, but all the venues are under works and no single deadline say "July 2016". Plus, the responsibles for the building and organizing the games are not the same people who were involved with the World Cup, not to mention, Rio does have some venues ready or needing few adjustments to host the games. A very comfy scenario compared to the World Cup. Your 'reckon' is out of place. Just check how much we talked here that the venues needs not big time to be raised and also the tons of pictures we posted... About numbers, no official numbers have been published. So far we have the numbers, we post it here. 1 Quote

I'm Happy that things have started speeding up with the Construction for Rio 2016. All Progress is Good now. That kind of comments make you creditor to be treated like a retard. I'm not a retard. I was just saying that there were delays, which obviously slowed the Construction. The Construction is speeding up now and they will just be ready in time for the Opening Ceremony. Just My opinion. Rob2012 Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 Looks good, very slick video. You can definitely tell the same masterplanners who designed London's Park are also behind this one, there are lots of similarities. The brown and black walkways integrating the shapes from the Games Look. the central concourse, the little coloured areas are very much like the temporary bridge structure in London's Park, the amphitheatre-like areas and strips of planting. It has the same fingerprints all over it but at the same time looks obviously Brazilian too. Quote
DamC Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 the video looks amazing. i really hope they don't screw up their legacy plans with this one. I'm a bit sceptical about what's gonna happen with all the Carioca Arenas Quote
Victor Mata Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 The Carioca Arenas will be dismantled and their parts will be used to build 4 municipal schools around the city. Quote
paul Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 Bill Hanway (exec vp at AECOM - responsible for design of London and Rio O parks) appeared as a member of the LA24 presentation in Redwood City. ...guys gets around Quote
TorchbearerSydney Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 Not sure why the main public articulation space is in the middle of the site, and not along the water around the edge. About a third of the waterfront is car and bus parking and the IBC.'RIO is hot, you need to be near water or undercover in the day. Quote
