Quaker2001 Posted July 15, 2016 Report Share Posted July 15, 2016 Considering NBC has a great abundance of its own hi-tech video cameras to use at every venue and in multiple areas and this Olympics is at a more usable time zone for NBC, I can see a fusion between their feed and the OBS' for the streaming. Just that we won't always see the Rio OBS logo at the beginning or the end. Incorrect. At some venues, yes. But at a lot of venues, they're relying on the world feed and have no presence at all. Remember a lot of sports are being called off monitors in Stamford rather than on site. And even at those where they have their own set-up, that production is for the benefit of NBC's TV broadcast, not to provide help for streaming when all they have to do is plug in to the world feed and they're good to go. And I still don't understand what the obsession is here with the OBS logo, but then again, there are a lot of strange obsessions on this website I don't get. I would like to say that most Americans also know the tradition of the host counties native language being used for the Parade of Nations, but it's America... anything could happen. Be the Brazilian television event most watched in the year , it is a major challenge: The impeachment reached 100 million viewers on TV. The opening of the London 2012 reached 16 million. But I believe that grand ceremony is necessary to hold the hearing. In Brazil the ceremonies tend to bet a lot of ' people ' which harms great performances . Americans (and I ) love great ceremonies , I want a big show , and not something that touches my heart. The parade of nations is very tiring. It needs to be faster, the 206 NOC 's should parade at 1.30am at most. - TV Globo also has influence she paid a lot to the IOC and is also the official sponsor . Even won a studio in the center of the Olympic Park , not even NBC achieved it . If they restricted it to just athletes (no coaches, officials, honored guests, and girls who get carried away and want to be part of India's delegation), they could shave a few minutes off the procession. Or perhaps by altering the route that they take around the stadium (I think Baron referenced the 2006 Asian Games in his book or maybe it was in these boards somewhere). Don't think NBC's wish will be granted there. Who cares? Part of the appeal of the Parade of Nations is learning what other nations names' are called in the host nations' languages other than English, wherever it may be. People will also be out of the house on that day with the start of the weekend. Though there are some reruns showing, US summer TV is definitely not what it traditionally used to be here; there's now a summer TV season all over the channels, particularly cable. Nonetheless, there's little TV competition, as you say, that many Americans will in a tentpole manner tune to outside the Summer Olympics in reaction in August.
