On the other hand, NBC Universal surely is planning and mulling over on a design for the logo as we speak with possibly the 3D Sugar Loaf Mountain and Christ The Redeemer statue. But that could be cliched for some. It might get unveiled on Super Bowl Sunday. Seems a good time to get people's attention. But again I ultimately think it's too early right now. A new Rio 2016 Olympic promo, I can certainly expect because as you say this is the biggest TV sports showcase event for NBC until Rio that will certainly catch hundreds of millions' attention, that's for the commercials too, and get American minds marinated for it. Don't forget though in a related story, Super Sunday will also be the day Mun2 becomes NBC Universo, the home of the Spanish language US Olympic TV broadcast for Rio--and this year's US Spanish Super Bowl coverage. I would expect another of 7's digital channels, 7Mate, to take up the Games as well and/or devise Olympic-specific channels like Ten did for Sochi 2014 and allow live and on-demand streaming through TENPlay online and on mobile devices (PLUS7 can also be accessed as a streaming app through the Sony PS3 and PS4 and maybe XBOX One). Doesn't say at all that NBC plans for a Rio Olympics promo (like when CTV/TSN/RDS did in Canada when its restarted its Believe campaign for London 2012 on its Super Bowl coverage that year). Hoped there was by this. Still could happen. Though there are a couple of websites devoted to Super Bowl commercials like http://www.superbowl-commercials.org/. Maybe it's because as the broadcast rights holder this year, websites like them skip network programming promos advertising altogether. NBC had advertised that he would be interviewed by Costas during the pregame, but I figured that would have happened at another place and time. I'm also very sure he was curious about those Super Bowls that we Americans make grand events of, to say nothing of Canada's Grey Cups, that he heard so much about and learn from. I guess with the NBC's new Rio logo, NBC Sports and its branding firm it worked with thought of using the Sugar Loaf Mountain but very likely wanted to avoid giving offense of using the image of Christ The Redeemer for commercial purposes to Americans Christians like the more conservative segments. Kinda does look like some those Rio pebble-like (or guitar pick, if you prefer) graphics and typography we're seeing the last year and half with usage of the Brazilian flag colors--mostly green, very likely to symbolize the Amazon forest. Goran Zachrisson--"Zacke"--will cover the Olympic golf scene filled with 60 men and 60 women in Rio De Janeiro for Sweden's Viasat and surely TV3 and TV10 with Sweden surely a part of this and fielding a solid team. Logo is growing on me with a nice, clean look that has Brazil's colors and will be used well for the upcoming broadcast and would offer a glimpse of what NBC's Rio graphics could look like. Like to know who the single Brazil narrator voice is. Headlined by Globo and SporTV having its own headquarters located at the heart of the Rio Olympic Park just like the BBC did at London, where they will conduct all of its Olympic and Paralympic-related programming including its own regular programming. They will employ all of the latest tech innovations for Brazilian TV like what we saw out of them from the World Cup and will reprise that not just for soccer but also for volleyball (both kinds), swimming, basketball, track and field, and maybe even handball and even cover all 45 of the test events starting August 2. It will also cover the Olympic Torch relay from Olympia to all 250 of the Brazilian cities, culminating at the Opening Ceremonies. It will also plan for 16 docs devoted to that same number of athletes (likely all Brazilians to raise their awareness to the Brazilian public). On the Globo side, it will broadcast 160 hours with 110 of them live as we know SporTV will have 18 channels for more comprehensive wall-to-wall coverage.
