Mekky
For oldest forumers, we feel strange, I remember the final decision for 2008 olympic games like if it was yesterday... But it's surely because Paris started a new bid. If Toronto would have started a new bid, toronto fans would be affected like me, they are less now when they take news of a bidding process between different cities. Mulder
It's going to go down to the wire, I wouldn't be surprised if it went to a penalty shootout.. :oh: ...And Valery Shantsev - (Chairman of Moscow 2012 Bid Committee, Vice Mayor of Moscow) gets ready for the kick, Lord Sebastian Coe defending London's Line, all the other bidders looking from the sideline, and Jacque Roggue blows his whistle to signal the kick. Shantsev runs up to the ball and kicks to the top left corner, Sebastian Coe lunges but he misses.........IT'S IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moscow has won the right to host the 2012 Olympics - the bid commitee are all happy jumping up and down, London are now spewing themselves. The other bids teams congratulates Moscow, what a remarkable finnish to see who will host the 2012 Olympics. ^^^ LOL Anyway Go Moscow and good luck to all of the other bid cities Hmm, such a nice finish you've imagined, just love it Надеюсь, всё это окажется правдой! On July 9 the Moscow bid commitee will literally move south to Singapore for the IOC session and Moscow will inevitably triumph as the elected city to host the 2012 Olympic games, as for NY well they are really going down if they dont get the stadium approved. But hey I hope they do get the stadium so they can provide a real strong force and chance of the election of the 2012 Olympics. Good Luck for NYC and for the other canditate cities, but to me I hope that Moscow wins the right to host the games - cya.

If spanish absolutly wanted games in Madrid, they would have had to choose Madrid over Barcelona in 1992... If your like a Games in NYC, why don't you chose NYC over LA in 1984?? In 1984 LA had already hosted an Olympics in 1932 and NYC could be great... :suspect:
SOlympiadsW
hmmmm that is a good point....why didn't the Spanish Olympic Committee choose their "wonderful" captial city to host the 1992 Olympics, but rather chsoe the smaller city of Barcelona....(and no this is not the same as the USA chosing LA, because the USA has many large cities that are capable of hosting, and therefore more options and oppurtunities to host, unlike Spain)....
