Durban Sandshark
A USWNT victory rally will take place at downtown Los Angeles' LA Live in over an hour from now! Based on the US Soccer Twitter photos, it's packed! Now where's the Victory DVD set?
Durban Sandshark
And they'll make history in joining the New York Yankees, John Glenn, New York Giants, New York Mets, New York Rangers, and the 1998 Discovery Shuttle crew in getting the NY ticker-tape parade treatment in the Canyon of Heroes, a first for US women's sports, on Friday! Why didn't the 1999 team got that too?!
Durban Sandshark
A small sampling of the reaction back in Japan after Nadeshiko thankfully and deservedly lost and got their just desserts in Vancouver at BC Place. They had no damn business in there the first place, much less winning it again! First one comes from a highlight report from final broadcaster Fuji TV. Note the reactions in the inset square of the studio panel and there were reports from various locations across Tokyo where the game was watched with lots of US fans shown and some Japan ones in Vancouver. All that said, Ayumi Kaihori needed a good hug after all those US goals scored on her, especially in the first half https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAKAx1HXlI0 NHK's 5-minute + report on the massive assault. I think it was the leadoff story on NHK News. Fuji TV apparently did allow game highlights shown on NHK as a co-broadcaster rights holder instead of photos like ESPN had to use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQTrPAYh0-A Friendly reminder tonight: the USWNT soccer is up for tonight's ESPY Award for Best Team with the Golden St. Warriors, Chicago Blackhawks, Ohio St. Buckeyes football, Connecticut Huskies women's basketball, and last and most certainly least that morally corrupt and arrogant Evil Empire New England, who had no damn business AT ALL in winning that Super Bowl, much less this, where it really should be the Seattle Seahawks winning and being in this category instead. But they apparently took smoked some stupid crack. Will the American women have enough momentum in the voting to win this? As long as that wretched evil entity doesn't win this, it's all good...
