Andrew8
You know... I remember I first joined these boards about 10 years ago, out of frustration from people making unfair statements that were straight up ignorant. To name a few examples, I remember having to challenge people on whether PyeongChang was in North Korea or whether Korea even got snow or had a winter culture. But, I hope that in the last 10 years, people have gotten better acquainted with a country called, Korea. And I hope that when people think of Korea, they see a passionate, sport loving country with so much great potential! And I hope, the IOC will finally give that chance to Korea tomorrow in South Africa. Korea is ready, and PyeongChang is waiting to welcome the world for the 2018 Winter Olympics! WHERE THE PARTY IS AT IN KOREA (July 6) 1) Gangwondo Chung Gwajang (강원도 청과장) Time: 22:00-1:30 2) Gangneung City Hall Im-youngdae-jonggak Gwajang (강릉시청 임영대종각 광장) 22:30-1:00 3) Alpensia Ski Jump Stadium 22:30-1:00 4) Jungsun-eup joyang-gang river Doonchi park (정선읍 조양강 둔치공원) 19:30-0:
walei
I really want to see the Winter Games back in Asia. A part of me wanted PC to win back in 2010 because a Vancouver win would mean a long wait for a Toronto game. In 2014 I was more indifferent towards the election. However after my first trip to Korea earlier this year I really love the Koreans for their hospitality. Hope PC will come a full circle tomorrow and grab that contract. Good luck PC2018! That's great! I have the feeling that many people around the world would agree with you if they ever give Korea a chance. I think it's one of those places where you could go from not knowing anything about it, to loving it.

wingspread
I think it's one of those places where you could go from not knowing anything about it, to loving it. I agree. I went on holiday to Seoul earlier this year. Everyone was nice and helpful, especially considering the language barrier. It was hard to communicate in English (and I don't mean this as an insult, just an observation based on my experience), but that didn't get in the way of the willingness of locals to respond. The city and its people just had this happy vibe and atmosphere. I hope that's going to be one of the reasons why PC 2018 will be a great WOG.
