Tulsa
yeah, im sure that an olympics in PC would turn a profit, PC is in a perfect location that gets plenty of snow False, they don't have plenty of snow... It's the contrary. PC has an important lack of snow each winter, the winter season it's only 2 months... Moreover the lack of enthusiasm for winter sport is an important risk. And the legacy isn't guarantee...

We have the best bid Ah huh. The "best" bid that the IOC told needed to be redone a while ago. A bid that is trailing badly in just about every poll. A bid that appears to be in financial trouble. Keep fiddling, Nero.

mattperiolat
???? GB pole "Just about" is not totally inclusive. I knew about the GB poll, so I made that exception. Like it or not, PC or Munich are favorites in this race.

nature
Wow, such odd timing that this accusation pops up given we're getting reports the Annecy bid is short on funds. Must be a total coincidence, right? Well, Maybe You can't compare with Annecy and PC. I don't know that Annecy's financial problems but, Annecy's problem seems to be no serious. The financial problems in Annecy for just 2.5 million euro. Pyeongchang Alpensia for 550 million euro (800 million dollar, 1USD=1,100KRW). This is not an Olympic legacy also, This is not for the development of winter sports. Most relates with 100 luxury houses (price is 2~3million dollar), VIP golf course and condos. Many people support Pyeongchang for the development of winter sport in Korea and the potential for new markets but, it is not true. The possibility of Korea had already talked, In Korea additional resort development is virtually impossible. The size of the existing 18 ski resort is very small. Alpensia has just 7 slopes and 27 hole VIP golf course. This size is impossible to create the Asia's winter sports hub. Moreover, are experiencing a liquidity crisis with debt of 800 million dollar. Government must stop spending also, Alpensia must sell it. (800 million dollar, 1USD=1,100KRW) (750 million dollar, 1USD=1,150KRW)

Tulsa
as the aerosmith song says "dream on" annecy has a crappy concept, btw, i support the munich bid , if munich doesnt get the games id rather have korea get the games Annecy offer the best Alpin place (Chamonix-Mont Blanc, world reference) , the best Biathlon and Ski country places (Le Grand Bornand and La Clusz, world reference so). For freestyle ski Annecy offer an amazing place (le Semnoz), with the best snow condition.... And each venues offers the best of the best conditions for Athletes. Annecy is in the heart of mountains, it's the only bid in the heart of real mountains. Between the 3 bid Annecy offer the most charming places and the better condition to Athletes... It's a fact... If you ask to Athletes, they will be for Annecy bid, and lot of atheltes around the world are for Annecy.
nature
1988 Seoul Olympic Stadium is not an Olympics legacy. 1 more million dollars deficit every year. It's demolition will be discussed. Because it's getting old, nobody's use. Last year, The Seoul government was reviewed the construction of shopping centers after demolition of the 1988 Olympics main stadium. Nevertheless, they are lying to IOC members. Pyeongchang 2018 Alpensia resort ? Now, has debt 800 million dollar. I can imagine the situation enough after the Olympics. Greece 2004 archery and women's marathon was held in 1900 Olympic Stadium. Was revived in 108 years, still remains a great legacy. Tokyo 2016 plans included 1964 venues. Berlin 2006 World cup and 2009 World Athletics was held in 1936 Olympics stadium. Munich 2018 will leave a sustainable legacy in Olympics history.
