olympian
And someone here was saying that the Russians were finished...and were going to fall apart at Sochi. Russian sweep wouldn't have happened had the Germans competed or they faltered big time. Volozhar and Trankov have legit shot for medals in Sochi. They're the defending silver medalists. Even granted that the Germans were there, the next 3 pairs were still the Russians...and look at ice dance & the men's results. I think it was intoronto pooh-poohing the Russians' chances. How can the prospective 2014 hosts NOT be a force to be reckoned with?
olympian
for ice dance, as long as Virtue and Moir and Davis and White are competing only one spot at the podium will be available. for men's take away Plushy only Gachinski will carry the Russian men. The women's are the promising one with Tuktamysheva and Sotnikova becoming age eligible for senior competitions this coming season
