And someone here was saying that the Russians were finished...and were going to fall apart at Sochi.

Russian sweep wouldn't have happened had the Germans competed or they faltered big time. Volozhar and Trankov have legit shot for medals in Sochi. They're the defending silver medalists.

Even granted that the Germans were there, the next 3 pairs were still the Russians...and look at ice dance & the men's results. I think it was intoronto pooh-poohing the Russians' chances. How can the prospective 2014 hosts NOT be a force to be reckoned with?

for ice dance, as long as Virtue and Moir and Davis and White are competing only one spot at the podium will be available. for men's take away Plushy only Gachinski will carry the Russian men. The women's are the promising one with Tuktamysheva and Sotnikova becoming age eligible for senior competitions this coming season

Wow, only Russia, the USA and China split the medals, 5 - 4- 3. They let no one else in.

It looks like Han Yan could be a future senior World Champion in men's figure skating, with Olympic gold in the 2012 WYOG and a junior world champion already achieved.

By the way, thank goodness the riot occurred this year, rather than next year, where the World Figure Skating Championships are going to be held in 2013. Sheesh! A St. Patrick's Day student riot! The main eason are intoxication to the extreme. At least, it is not one B.C. town in the 1990s, when it had a riot over, get this, MC Hammer! -_-
