memorabilia Posted June 25, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 25, 2011 Hi everyone: Went on line at US Cosport to supplement my lottery allocation today and purchased 2 synchronized swimming tickets at top dollar since they were the only ones available at that time (1pm EST)...then 2 hours later less expensive tickets miraculously appeared...they popped up (at around 3pm.) I wasn't able to switch. Word to everyone...this has been happening from time to time on the website...it's constantly in "flux." I don't feel too bad; however, because my lottery allocation was really good (but I requested top dollar in almost every category...) However, even before the lottery I bought a hospitality gymnastics package because I was bound and determined to see finals of women's gymnastics at these Olympics. Total ticket cost for this "Bucket List Event" my first Olympic experience. 17K. My brother who is getting married this month says it's about the cost of a wedding !!! Guess I'm marrying the Olympics...at least I don't have to buy any RINGS as the Olympics comes with 5 of them... Could people post links to other websites they are monitoring for Olympic information besides the LOCOG and Cosport sites? Thanks so much, Mercury I don't understand the COSPORT process ? In their website, they are announcing the second phase starting on the 28th ? Is that only for new customers... meaning that customers from the first phase have private sells for the second one ? I received this mail during the night... so some additional informations and a new date on the 7th for the second phase... and for 'new customer' ! Dear CoSport New Account Holder: As we prepare for the launch of our next phase for ticket sales, we want to provide you with this update and to give you information on the process in the event you wish to consider making a purchase. In terms of an update, we have now completed the process of confirming orders from the Initial Ticket Request Phase. There was a very large demand for tickets. Many events were oversubscribed and therefore required that we utilize a ballot process. Due to the expected large demand for remaining tickets, we have delayed some of the launch dates for our Phase II Ticket Sales. We are taking this action to try and spread out the demand and thereby create a better experience for customers in all of our markets. The date of our launch in Europe is listed below. Other EU/EEA countries can purchase based on the times below. Local Date and Time July 7th, 2011 Austria (Vienna) - 9:00 am Bulgaria (Sofia) - 10:00 am Sweden (Stockholm) - 9:00 am Norway (Oslo) - 9:00 am Please note that the available ticket inventory will not be available or posted on our website, www.cosport.com, prior to the ‘Commencement Date”. Anyone wishing to make a purchase will have to create an account (which you have already done). In order to access the inventory and make a purchase on the Commencement Date go to our website at www.cosport.com. Login to your existing account. After completing the login, click the “Buy Tickets” button (or alternatively click on the “Products” tab then select “Individual Tickets”). Orders will only be accepted through our website. Phone, Fax and Email orders will not be accepted. The only tickets in our inventory for the Phase II sales process are those tickets that remained unsold after our Initial Request Phase. As such there will not be tickets to all sports events or sessions. Only the available inventory will be displayed. This sales phase is a live sales process, and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. All sales are final, and our standard terms and conditions for all purchases will apply. Like in the Initial Request Phase we expect a high demand for the remaining ticket inventory. At times the website may be slow to respond, but we are preparing to deliver the best service possible. Mercury Posted June 25, 2011 Report Share Posted June 25, 2011 1) I think (and I'm just guessing this) that those who participated in Cosport Lottery but who were not allocated lottery tickets had a presale starting on Thursday the 23rd. I am interpolating this situation...because I read a post on this website from someone who did not get stuff in the lottery, but who participated and saw that many events were available for purchase at that time. 2) Those who participated in the Cosport Lottery and who were allocated lottery tickets had a presale starting a day later...on the 24th..this is what I participated in...I had no idea that certain tickets were being sold a day prior and cosport did not inform me in anyway of this. It makes sense to do this though...LOCOG also did this with their Lottery...those who got tickets in the Lottery had to wait until after unlucky Lottery participants got a chance at some tickets....I'm just a bit upset that I wasn't made aware of this. 3) The 28th starts the general public for individual ticket sales... Note: Hospitality packages are ongoing for everyone. Cosport has new hospitality packages out called "tickets and hospitality"...no housing is provided in these packages. A cheaper way of getting grouped tickets...I was only able to view this option on the 24th. Perhaps this new type of hospitality package will be viewable to the public on the 28th if it is not viewable already by all. Hope this info helps. The Tower Bridge Fox Posted June 25, 2011 Report Share Posted June 25, 2011 Now I’m having problems with the Visa web site setting up a virtual prepayment card , as if having to wait for the money I already paid by postal order to be refunded which wont happen till the 8th of July. They original told July the 31st which would have been a complete outrage. If and when the Visa web site does allow me to set up a prepayment card it wont be free, I will have to give visa £5 just for the privilege of transferring money from the prepayment card I already had but couldn’t use just because it wasn’t visa, Why bother promoting postal applications in the first place. As Coe said, 1 million tickets would come from contingency seats in the following month, and you will also have some of the tickets that are actually in the package sold by Thomas Cook that will return in the general public allotments.... That means Athletics finals and 2 heats, Mens Volleyball bronze medal match, Mens Beach volleyball quarter finals and a weightlifting final. I'm def happy with the spread of events - but still disappointed with the overall ticketing process. Why didn't they share the tickets out more in the first round? It definitely favoured those people who could risk dropping a lot of money on tickets. I have to say that I'm also disappointed with LOCOG. Their annoucement of a further 1 million+ tickets being available next year makes me feel that they are not being very honest. I understand that not all venues are finalised and that some seats will become available - but one million!! If there are roughly 650 sessions then that is an average of over 1500 seats becoming 'available' at each session. Actually with no session at Round 1 and 6 sessions in Round 2, you're luckier than me that after applying for 20 sessions, I only got 3 ! And when i will apply in some weeks in my Round 2, the choice should be reduced ! So the process was fair for the Round 1, through a ballot, not so fair actually as 2 different rounds... And that was not announced before by LOCOG. They apparently change their mind to try to satisfy a maximum of people ! So great, i know i will have other opportunity to get the tickets i wanted or tickets to attend a maximum of different events to live a real olympic experience ! Regarding, the million tickets, i am repeating myself, they will not only come from seats contingency related to overlay, but also from Thomas Cook, some sponsors allotment adjustement and from some of the NOCs ! Madscouser Posted June 27, 2011 Report Share Posted June 27, 2011 Didnt manage to get Athletics or basketball tickets in the 2nd round (gutted), so missing out currently on my 'big3' (athletics, cycling & swimming) So far, with a friend, tickets now for 6 sports Rowing qualifiers (Sun / Mon am) W Hockey qualifiers (Sun eve) Tennis (Centre Court, 2nd rnd) Beach Volleyball (R16, late night Sat session) W Handball Bronze Medal M 10m Diving Final Still want to get into the stadium, and ideally gymnastics / trampolining to take my little boy to.
