Citius Altius Fortius
I just wonder how LOCOG handles/handled the application - did they start with the applications according their entry or by the number of applicated tickets/sessions or by the time order of the sessions etc. etc.? OneTimeOnly
Quarter of a million Olympic ticket applicants will get nothing More than half who applied for London 2012 tickets have had money debited from their accounts. Another chance to buy will come in the summer More than 250,000 of the 1.8m people who applied for Olympic tickets will be left with nothing, it emerged today, with some disappointed fans who applied for multiple events receiving as little as 5% of the seats they wanted. More than half of the people who applied for tickets have already seen money taken from their accounts, and Olympic organisers say that by Tuesday 31 May debiting of credit and debit cards will be complete. The typical applicant, who asked for 12 tickets at a cost of around £500, will receive around a third of what they wanted. But many Olympic hopefuls who applied only for the showpiece events such as the opening ceremony and the 100m final will be left with nothing. Organisers said they received more than one million tickets requests for both the opening ceremony and the men's 100m final, enough to fill the stadium 20 times over. Rob2012
Is there a difference between your balance and your available balance? That's how I knew I was getting £126 debited.
Citius Altius Fortius
Is there a difference between your balance and your available balance? That's how I knew I was getting £126 debited. I can look onto my different accounts and I can see when something is debited on my credit card account, but hasn't been handled so far - interestingly I can't see the amount of a jeans, which I bought yesterday, at the moment - furthermore it might be that the charging from the UK takes longer than from Germany - therewith there is a possibility that an "UK-charging" from friday arrives on monday in Germany (especially when even the jeans hasn't been debited so far on my account)
baron-pierreIV
With 20 million tix orders from a nation of about 60 mil, can you imagine what it would've been if it were held in the US? Probably an initial order of 75 million tix easily.

Probably an initial order of 75 million tix easily. The ticket application process was open to the entire EU, not just the UK. So we're talking a similar sized potential pool as the US. In truth, however, 60% of the applications came from London and the South East. I guess for US Olympics, a huge percentage of applicants will be from within the State the Games are in too. Mr Tickle
Well I applied for £1410 worth of tickets and £346 is being debited so thats about 25% so Im happier than I was. I've worked out what it could mean. Fewest tickets also is the best case senario and means tickets to 2 events, the opening & closing ceremonies. But lets face it that wont happen. Another good senario is tickets to 8 events including the closing ceremony. So I guess I will have to wait and see.

I still have nothing, applied for 6 events, incl. opening and closing too. But if I can choose, I rather have just opening and forsake all the others! All hopes not gone yet, fingers crossed... memorabilia
So debit is there... Appeared dated on May the 30th, but debit has been realised by LOCOG on May the 27th (bank delays...) So only 15% of my requests have been successful (in term of amount)! Lower than usual (Athens & Torino Games), but not disappointed... this is the London 2012 Games !!! This is a first phase. I will wait to see what I officially have by the end of June and will follow what is available by the French NOC and what will be also available in the LOCOG second phase! (and when ever possible, LOCOG would have my favour... except for some sold out events !)

I hope LOCOG will give the details soon!
