I'm not sure that is very recent because the wrap is alot further along than that.

I'm not sure it is. Just four panels is where it was up to for the test events earlier this month. I'm pretty sure the photo uploaded by xtclvr05 and edited by Memento is in fact from a long time ago when they had 8 panels up to promote the wrap in an attempt to find someone to sponsor it - this was before Dow were involved (hence the very prominent construction work and landscaping going on in the foreground of the picture, which has long since been completed).

...In fact I've just the photo on Flickr (it was taken by the guy that does the Inside London 2012 page) and it actually dates back to March 2011: New Wrap on The Stadium - Around the London 2012 Olympic Park - 22nd March 2011 No 2

They ended up taking these panels down, and started putting some back up in April. All the recent photos from this month are still showing four panels. This is a good one: Olympic Stadium London

Can somebody please post a recent aerial pic? (also i'm trying to find those pics on that Facebook but i can't see them)

I don't think there are any more recent than the ones posted by Wanstead on page 47. They feature the building / preparations for the Ceremonies now that the Athletics test events have all taken place.

Just one thing about the wrap...not sure if I posted this before, but the wrap is also carrying information for the spectators as to find where are seated in the stadium, the pic was taken at the test event on 5th May.

That is probably the geekiest comment I have ever read on here. And that is saying something. :D

Well, I'm a bit of a font and typeface nerd to begin with. I have to say I've been really disappointed with LOCOG's choices. To me, the open lines and arcs of the wayfinding font are at too strong of odds with the harsh acuteness of Headline. I do really enjoy that they use Futura for most of the internal docs, though. I think it lends the text authority without pomp and formality.

The 2012 typface is really great and it's probably the best thing remaining about the brand.

I say remaining because since the brand's release 5 years ago, a lot of key elements, namely the excellent use of color and form composition, seems to have been shoved out the door.

Plan to hold Formula One race in and around Olympic Stadium on bid shortlist

Plans for a London Formula One Grand Prix on a track running in and around the Olympic Stadium is among the bids being considered for London 2012’s showpiece arena.

Telegraph Sport can reveal that the ambitious plan that could allow another British round of the world championship - Silverstone is locked into a long-term deal - to be staged in Stratford is one of four bids accepted for consideration by the London Legacy Development Corporation earlier this year.

The bid was tabled by a company based in Wanstead, east London, which discussed its plans with Formula One chief executive Bernie Ecclestone before finalising its bid.

Ecclestone confirmed that he had been approached and that he had expressed an interest in staging the race if the bid was successful.

“This is a firm that happened to be bidding for use of the stadium, not to own it. They came up with a scheme whereby Formula One would race around the stadium, inside it, outside it. They wanted to make sure I would be interested,” he told Telegraph Sport this week.

Asked if he remained interested in staging a London F1 race, Ecclestone said: “Yeah.”

After so much time, seeing the stadia with the wrap seems weird for me for some reason  (guess I already got used to the wrapless stadium).

Anywho, this is looking so much better. About time they did it.
