baron-pierreIV
Duncan Mackay blogs the Incheon 2014 Asian Games: http://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1022668/asian-games-the-opening-ceremony The Incheon 2014 Asian Games Closing Ceremony. Looks like Incheon took some inspiration from London with its CC countdown Thanks for posting that. Am watching the first hour of the opening. It's quite boring and uninspired, I find myself fast-forwarding very often. It's pixelating quite often and the colors are lousy. Very mediocre performance so far. Will have to go back to it later. Ikarus360
Very rare video of the opening of the 1999 South Asian Games in Kathmandu, Nepal. Back when the monarchy still existed and long before the 2015 devastating earthquake Also a rare one from the opening of the 1999 SEA Games in Brunei (so far the only ones hosted there until now)
Ikarus360
Mass Calisthenics demonstration at the 1989 South Asian Games in Islamabad (Pakistan). Very reminiscing of Mosco 1980. Material of these games are very rare.
Ikarus360
At last, someone uploaded the full opening ceremony of the 1987 Mediterranean Games in Latakia, Syria. These ceremonies were directed and carried on by the same team who did the ceremonies of Moscow 1980. Sadly, the quality is very bad, but i guess its better than nothing.
Ikarus360
I've uploaded the full opening ceremony of the 1994 Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg, Russia in Youtube (I found the video a couple of months ago and decided to share it with all of you but I had some issues which prevented me to post this earlier) I hope you guys enjoy it! Also, it seems the opening ceremony actually began with some peformances on the city itself, outside of the stadium, and through the Neva River (on a similar fashion to Seoul 1988)

baron-pierreIV
Highlights of the Opening Ceremony of the 1989 Francophonie held in Casablanca/Rabat, Morocco - Apparently, that was the inaugural edition of Les Jeux Francophonie. Ikarus360
Yes, those were the first games, then Paris would hold the 2nd games in 1993 Some highlights of Casablanca 1983 Mediterranean Games. Like i said before, I think the Francophony Games ceremony was done by the same team.
Durban Sandshark
The one time the Olympics & the Super Bowl came together -- at the halftime show for 1992, when the SB honored the Winter Olympics...so leading into the Albertville Games... Certainly wasn't watching this because I tuned to In Living Color's live halftime show instead. Made a great decision then. Genius what Keenan Ivory Wayans and company did. What that show did indeed changed the face of Super Bowl halftime shows forever, starting with Michael Jackson at the Rose Bowl.

panamfan
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!! Someone named Imasportsphile just posted ABC's Complete coverage of the Sarajevo 1984 Closing Ceremony on youtube! HOORAY! YIPPEE! Also, he posted much footage from ABC's coverage of the Lake Placid 1980 Closing Ceremony. The Lake Placid footage is far from complete, but contains some footage not seen in the previously posted footage - including the raising of the Yugoslavian Flag. Also, there is much footage from earlier in the broadcast that night including the 90m Ski Jumping, Figure Skating Exhibition (with special performances by 1976 gold medalists John Curry and Dorothy Hamill) and highlights of Alpine Skiing, Ice Hockey, Speed Skating, and ABC's Lake Placid version of their "Ode to Joy" tribute to the games. Ikarus360
Someone uploaded some excerpts in HD of both Barcelona '92 and Atlanta '96 opening ceremonies (from japanese television). Despite being short, the quality of these videos is very impressive. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDdpgO3oMUg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhnCj585zWA Also, Seoul '88 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIOSFZK7Bfo

It's a shame that the Atlanta one's audio was muted. But I had never known that at the front of the riverboat there were people in fish costumes walking in! And lol that they didn't include the cheerleaders and chevy trucks segment. Smart move whoever made that choice!
panamfan
No one seems to have noticed my previous post above, so I will repost it. As I said, I have found on YouTube the complete ABC coverage of the Sarajevo 1984 Closing Ceremony, with commentary by the late great Jim McKay. It was posted by someone named Imasportsphile. baron-pierreIV
And here is the Lighting Ceremony for last summer's LA 2015 - the Special Olympics. How far the (at least) western civilized world has come. Notice some of the priestesses they have included, starting at the 30:00 mark. They have Down's Syndrome. What would Prince Paris and Aphrodite have thought??? Also, why can't they have that parabolic dish on SURVIVOR when the survivors struggle to light a flame???
