DesmondChan
Anyone still remember the "incident" that GamesBids.com had "proudly" to be the very first in the world to unveil the Beijing 2008 logo? It shocked the world, and make GamesBids.com famous! Can somebody unveil Rio 2016 logo before 31 Dec 2010? Hehehe....
Bezzi
I hope not. The party will lose the favor, as occurred with the launch of the logo of the World Cup 2014. Everyone had seen and knew how it was, so nobody was surprised. But it must be very hard to keep the secret. There is much material already printed and objects with the new brand. DannyelBrazil
I was talking to some colleagues on advertising world here in Brazil, and they were very optimistic because of the agencies involved in the final-phase of creation. According to them all the companies has lots of experience in designing brands and already delivered some good jobs before. --- Any bets on the theme, colors, shapers, meanings? Athan
Any bets on the theme, colors, shapers, meanings? Round shapes like the website and the Facebook image. Yellow for the sun, orange for the sand, green for the nature (maybe blue for the sky and sea, and to complete the colours of the Brazilian flag). And the three (or four) colours as a whole represent Rio's diversity and mixture of cultures. That's my bet, so the logo will be totally different
LuigiVercotti
Enjoy the moment Danny, rio2016man, Bezzi and all our Brazilian members. I recall how important is was watching the millennium athlete logo for Sydney 2000 being revealed at the official launch...it's just one more step closer to seeing a great dream come alive. As for the actual design etc I'm sure it'll be debated praised and hated all in one go. No matter, by 2016 it'll be part of the Rio 2016 psyche. Rob2012
And you're already one up on us lot, because you're having a proper launch event, rather than the small marketing presentation London did - which I think was a mistake when launching such a leftfield design. Rio 2016 are giving people a chance to interact with the logo straight away; I like that.
DannyelBrazil
I liked the idea of unveiling the logo during the new year`s party. This is smart, since December 31st is a day with not much news (there is no news about politics and economics today, since it`s a international holiday), and this image with the logo and the olympic rings will get huge in the media. Besides that, the logo will be unveiled in the middle of a 2.5 million people crowded beach party (more Rio and Brazil impossible). Very very smart about marketing. That's why I think Spanish TV will show the logo on the news. They didn't show us London's logo or mascots, but tomorrow (as every New Year's Day) we'll be shown how people celebrate around the world "And look, Rio de Janeiro launched the Olympic logo!". I hope...
