I purposely left my Liv Rm when that was happening -- but forgot to mute the TV, so i still heard some of the sickening B/S.  I don't know how Infantino's family can live with him??  Thank God, it's an UGLY prize!  I hope the Prime Minister of Spain rejects the next one in 2029!! 

BTW, can you imagine how even MORE complicated the 2030 draw will be with the 3 Opening Games in South America?  And then another 3 opening Games in Iberia/Morocco. 

Also, nobody mentioned it -- but Iran and Haiti are two of the "****-hole" countries on Trump's visa-suspended list.  So how are Trump and FIFA going to square away that problem??  Maybe better, if no Iranians or Haitians want to come to the US next summer!!!

It has already been made clear by the Trump administration that fans from Iran and Haiti will not be given visas to attend games in the U.S. Even more concerning is Iran boycotted the draw because members of their delegation were denied visas after Trump previously promised visas for all teams and their delegations. And Trump's travel ban list is about to grow which is said to include Egypt, Algeria, and Senegal.

I still do not discount the possibility that the orange man will outright ban the Iranian and or Haitian teams from competing. I would venture that FIFA is figuring out how to keep that from happening.

Reminds me of when the last time the World Cup was held in the USA with the 1994 final at Pasadena's famed Rose Bowl with champs Brazil and Italy--and even that of the 2014 final in Rio De Janeiro. It was right in the middle of our afternoon. Designed mostly to satisfy the European primetime TV hours, where the balance of power with soccer largely resides in, regarding money, business, influence, and institutional structure. Moreover, thought the opening Mexico-South Africa match at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium, a rematch of the 2010 opening match at Johannesburg's FNB Stadium, was going to be played during prime time here but will instead play at 1pm CT Mexico/USA/Canada. Ditto for Canada's opening match in Toronto will be in the afternoon but at 2pm CT. At least the USA-Paraguay match in Inglewood will be on our primetime at 8pm CT, but the other co-hosts deserve their opening matches be on their primetimes. Pity for all the Scottish fans who will have to watch Scotland's World Cup return later at night:

oh, here's fun. The two users who have been posting anti-immigrant, anti-trans, pro-Trump stuff the LA28 and '26 World Cup threads on skyscrapercity are both now saying the threads should be apolitical because someone has suggested the current situation there isn't great for hosting these events.

Really sums up the state of that forum these days.
