huaiwei
Drummers segment. So very cool that they have an entrance right through the middle of the huge screens.
olympics08
Amazing act! Performers in midair (18m high) formed water waves, smiling faces, and birds to complete the scenes show on the eight LED screens! They even pretended to be the people on the mountains! walei
Are they lighting the cauldron already?
Pui from HK
The part with piano and Zhang Ziyi singing was to honour the achievement of the 30 years of opening of China. The Guangdong Province was the very first place to start the economic reform, and Guangzhou was the very first city to adopt opening policy (at that time the policy was still banned by the central government, so they were rally risking their own politcial life). huaiwei
Very pretty stage now! And it looks like the cauldron in the middle? Oh now they are showcasing not just Chinese, but Asian cultures. It was Southeast Asia earlier...now South Asia.
Ikarus360
Ok, i finally found a link, but too late...i'll have to watch everything on Youtube or something later. They're raising the ''cauldron'' already, i think
huaiwei
Ah I see Singapore on one of the screens earlier haha. They showed all kinds of Asian cities and the people of Asia. Theme song now. My gosh the cauldron rises high above everyone on the stage! Bring on the fireworks!

olympics08
Nice! Drummers enter the stage (with the Asian Games red sun emblem, as opposed to the Olympic Rings, on their drums) as what would possibly be the Games' cauldron emerged. Peoples from across Asia entered the stage and danced, untimately form the red sun and the Guangzhou Asian Games logo. Now the song "Sunshine Again" is sung by a group of singers, namely Kim Hyun Joong and three others (all of these others Chinese). Can anyone identify these three? huaiwei
The water is gone. And every athlete now has to march right under the cauldron. Lovely!

Pui from HK
Woo when the Hong Kong team walked into the stage the audience cheered SOOO LOUDLY! We Hong Kong and Guangzhou share the same language and the same culture, and we feel like Guangzhou as half of our local stage!

Ikarus360
Btw i like that they're using traditional music of each country...if only Beijing 2008 had decent parade music
Pui from HK
When the Japanese team matched in the background music was "Sakura".
huaiwei
Btw i like that they're using traditional music of each country...if only Beijing 2008 had decent parade music I suppose it was more practical here because each team is larger. Most contingents to the Olympics are far too small to play their respective music long enough. Anyway it was a fairly warm welcome for South Korea. Another roar for Macau, China!
