Their Euro studio is a houseboat, which is right now docked in Copenhagen Harbour. That houseboat will be transported to London, where it will be located at St. Katherine Docks right next to Tower Bridge. NBC had a press event last Wednesday where I would have guessed they had hard copies of the media guide. Also wondering when we'll get to see the full broadcast schedule, although I did manage to find this off the website off an affiliate in Pittsburgh.. My guess, Michael, is when the NBC family of networks unveils its Olympic TV and Internet schedules, which is the only major significant thing remaining after all of the anchors, reporters, play-by-play and analyst sportscasters were named to the NBC London 2012 broadcast team for us American Olympic fans to get excited and plan for (and also for Canadian Olympics who may be interested in watching some of the coverage up north on at least on NBC proper in addition to CTV Olympics). I expect the schedule will be released sometime within these two weeks. More likely later this week with the likes of FOXTEL already making known their schedules. As for the media guide itself, I expect NBC's London 2012 media guide to be a massive affair with a lot of stuff outside of the aforementioned items and will be bigger than what NBC and publishing companies put out from its past viewing guides since 1988. But since Quaker2001 beat me to it with his finding of Pittsburgh's NBC affiliate's schedule, I need to see if media guide is since uploaded. BBC finally brings out an Olympic promo and intro for their massive London coverage. It's animated like with its previous ones for Beijing and Vancouver, but this time computer-generated animation rule the day, showing athletes training and competing in sports in various parts of the UK like the London streets and in the English Channel that was inspired by the Stadium UK concept. All of it using Elbow's "First Steps". Really nice. Why is ZDF and Das Erste offering only six live webstreaming channels for the London Olympics when the likes of neighbors in France just announced at least 12 Olympic streams? Like I say, surely those two are capable of offering more coverage than six in this case. And one employee of the public TV channels made fun of him on his private twitter site - by the way this website belongs to a newspaper, of which I never heard before - the title of the newspaper sounds very "yellow-press"-like... There will be a late night show though I can't really find who is doing it this time--Waldi or Harry. mhh - I am glad that there is no "late night show" with "Waldi and Harry" this time, since I can't stand Waldemar Hartmann (Waldi) or Harald Schmidt (Harry). I'm really happy to see that the daytime coverage will start at 9am in the Central time zone and will not be delayed an hour like it was in 2004 and 2008. I wonder if the Today show will start at 6am or if NBC will just cut the third hour of Today in the Central and Pacific time zones. The Olympic TV listings isn't complete because of, for example, the basketball qualifications going on right now, so it can't be complete but will be revised as we go along. Two questions regarding the ceremonies being able to see them live online, which I know was going to happen for a lot of people are interested in. Will it be shown minus any commentary or will NBC try to use the hosts for it to call it with a bit of that live-to-tape reserved for the primetime airing? Furthermore, I'm curious as will we see any of that before Opening Ceremony stuff online something like that the CBC and likely CCTV had in its streams four years ago? The BBC has to do it with theirs, though it hasn't yet announced it in its Olympic listings. I got to say that I am bit disappointed when I noticed that Telemundo apparently will not broadcast the Spanish-language version of Opening Ceremony. It is for the Closing Ceremony, but why that over the Opening one? In a time that in Canada we had now both Ceremonies broadcasted in 12 languages in Vancouver 2010, it seems not out of the realm of possibility to show both in Spanish. Maybe it eventually will,though at this time, it's not announced. Telemundo does have a preview show, something the English NBC has not done since 1992. FOXTEL will let Aussies know what of the 1100 hours of its 3200 hours of Olympic broadcast among the 8 channels are to be live. http://wwos.ninemsn....aspx?id=8493444 SABC offers their 2012 Olympic advertising packages and reveals what to expect from them. SABC2, which is showing both ceremonies, will have live Olympic coverage from 11:50-4pm daily, which is disappointing because I would expect it to go much further from, say, 11am-9pm, It's going to show whatever it's on during those times like swimming, track and field, boxing, and hockey (so that's good news for the South African men's and women's field hockey teams back in South Africa). SABC1 will show all the Bayana Bayana games live along much of the soccer matches and three Sundays of basketball later in those night, culminating with the gold medal game. SABC3 will have nothing but tennis. Doesn't say which sports will get the treatment of having any of the 11 official South African languages though I'm sure the Bayana Bayana matches and boxing will get several of them with swimming having some Afrikaans, for examples. There will be a daily Good Evening London daily wrapup talk show with, emulating NBC of sorts, SABC2 will show an Overnite Highlights show from 1-5am. Guess more comprehensive coverage is what SuperSport is for in Sub-Saharan Africa. http://themediaonlin...games-packages/ Speaking of Sub-Saharan Africa, Nigeria is the only nation there that has its Olympic broadcast plan announced. Octagon SA says it is working very close to have agreements down for many of the territories. Methinks it's because Nigeria got theirs early is the second most important market in all of Sub-Saharan Africa after SA because of its massive population. With the last few weeks before the start of the London Olympics, perhaps Octagon is going to announce them in blocks if not all at once, like possibly have the French-speaking nations (mostly in West Africa) have theirs made public simultaneously in one big package. A few new Nine Network 2012 Olympic promos hit in the last few weeks that uses and celebrates London interspersing with Aussie athletes and sometimes other Olympians taken from Beijing. I'll bring up two of them. The others including from FOXTEL will arrive later. Eddie McGuire, Mr. Nine Network also doing his duties for FOXTEL, discussing the general overview of Nine's Olympic coverage, Australia's most unprecedented Olympic TV coverage on FTA in the nation's history. Jessica Mabroy and Stan Walker sing the classic Waltzing Mathilda in this Nine Olympic promo with Australian Olympians, fans, and Aussie banners (C'Mon Aussie and the boxing kangaroo) superimposed with famous London images and through the streets of London as the athletes are competing and great, recent Australian Olympic legends make appearances. I posted a story earlier that said no NBC commentators would be used on LiveExtra. It said they were going to mostly use feeds with no audio, but some sports would have the English language commentary from the Olympic Broadcast Service. The ceremony & pre-show will be hosted by Gilles Birch, Harry Roselmack and Denis Brogniart. The three jouranlists will comment live from London, accompanied by Amelie Mauresmo as a luxury consultant.
