I was disappointed Estonia and Ireland drew each other. I would like Ireland to be there, but Estonia was such a good story.

They need more experience... Lets hope Bosnia qualifies, they are a great story too!

As expected, Croatia has qualified for EURO 2012, even if it achieved only a 0-0 at home against Turkey. But its 3-0 victory in Istanbul on Friday counted.

Furthermore, the Czech Republic is also qualified, after its 1-0 victory in Montenegro.

Estonia is tieing Ireland 1-1 right now (with only nine minutes of regular time to go), but Ireland would still be comfortably qualified, due to their 5-0 victory in Tallinn on Friday.

Sadly, the beast (Cristiano Ronaldo) has scored the 1-0 for Portugal against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Lisbon. Come on, Bosnia! Still 65 minutes to go!

Sh*t -- Nani has scored the 2-0 for Portugal. Come on, Bosnia!!!

Oh well... It was somewhat inevitable, wasn't it? Yet another big tournament with douchebag Cristiano Ronaldo. But the only good thing about it is that he'll be overestimated yet another time and will fail to become the "star of the tournament".

Anyway: And so these EURO qualifiers end. One should not forget that these were historic qualifiers, since they were the last ones with only 14 (or a maximum of 15) tickets to be played for. The next qualifiers for 2016 in France will be played for 23 tickets already.

Ok!!! Kind of sad... Bosnia deserved to win that match against France, where thet were winning 1-0 and on 83 min a penaly made.... In the playoffs they didnt played the same. :S

By the way... Amazing Germany's win over Netherlands 3-0

I just looked at the seeding. We could see Spain, Germany, Portugal and France play each other in the first round.

I was bored and I like excel, so I did a random number sorting to produce:

Group A

Poland

England

Croatia

Czech Republic

Group B

Netherlands

Italy

Greece

Ireland

Group C

Ukraine

Germany

Sweden

France

Group D

Spain

Russia

Portugal

Denmark

Interesting groups, Faster -- and no real "group of death" there. England and Croatia would be the favourites in group A, the Netherlands and Italy in group B, Germany and maybe (due to home advantage) Ukraine in group C and Spain and probably Russia in group D.

You just did one small mistake: Ukraine is seeded in group D, not in group C -- since the matches of group C will be played in Poland.

Poland is seeded in group A, so you've got that one correct.

I'm going to say Germany will win Euro 2012

Shhhh! ;) Thanks for the prediction -- but I still can't really believe that our team plays that well currently. They showed amazing spirit already with a weaker squad against Ukraine on Friday (when they fought back after a 1-3 to a 3-3) and they showed even more amazing spirit yesterday against the Netherlands. The defence is still a certain weak spot, though. And we just don't know yet how this German team will perform against the still strong Spanish team. They are the opponents to beat right now in European football.

Furthermore, one has to add to all the euphoria that the Netherlands haven't played with their best squad yesterday. Robben, van der Vaart and van Persie were missing.

Germany was missing Philip Lahm and Schweinsteiger

I'm going to say Germany will win Euro 2012

I wanne see a final either Germany-Spain or Germany-Netherlands :D

My bad, just relabel Group C and D.

And yea I was surprised at how even the groups were.

Sorry, but you did the draw wrong. Poland, Ukraine, Spain and the Netherlands are seeded. That means that those four teams can't play in the same group, and so your group D with Ukraine and Spain and your group C with none of the four teams are impossible.

You can find the pot allocation here, it has been announced today by UEFA: EURO finals draw seedings unveiled

So, if one wanted to change the groups as little as possible, one would have to put Spain on top of your group C and one of the teams in your group C (for example, Germany) to group D.

that's a great draw but i see ENG, ESP, GRE, GER, IRL, FRA, NED, ITA moving on

the semifinals will be Germany vs Ireland and Spain vs Italy

the final will be a rematch of the 2008 final: Germany vs. Spain

Spain will be the 1st squad to repeat as European Champions

which teams you think will move on and become champions?

I think the same :D the final will be a repeat of 2008, but this time is Germany to win, they are playing better and will now the same mistake maked them loose in the WC semifinals they were NERVOUS.

This is the result of my draw (complete, also with the drawing of the positions within the respective groups):

Group A

Poland

Portugal

England

Czech Republic

Group B

Spain

Sweden

Russia

Ireland

Group C

Netherlands

Germany

Greece

Denmark

Group D

Ukraine

France

Croatia

Italy

So Germany got a pretty tough group in my draw. I hope that the real draw will turn out luckier for them. ;) But at least they avoided the Spanish team in my draw. ;)

Group D could be a "secret group of death", since the names on the paper are pretty big: Home team Ukraine against former World and European Champions France and Italy and against the strong Croatian team.

Group B should be a fairly easy task for Spain.

Group A is actually tough for all teams: Poland has the home advantage but opponents who are still stronger than them; Portugal and England will have a tough time playing against each other; and the Czechs are in a similar position as the Polish team, only that they don't have the home advantage but instead play on a slightly higher level than Poland.

My prediction which teams would advance to the quarterfinals in such a group constellation:

Group A: Portugal and England, narrowly ahead of the the Czech Republic with Poland a distant fourth

Group B: Spain and Russia, with Ireland and Sweden both finishing with three points

Group C: Germany and Netherlands, Denmark ranks third

Group D: Croatia and Ukraine, France and Italy get too nervous again and eliminate each other
