neige
The very best of the french Alps! If you look at the Michelin guide, there are two 3 stars localities only in the french Alps....Annecy and Chamonix (just like Paris, Monaco or Cannes). Annecy: the emblematic city of the french Alps Annecy sits majestically on the side of its lake opposiite one of the best water and mountain spectacles anywhere in the French Alps. By and large a pedestrian area -with houses in archways, circular Italian wells, quays, palaces and churches, there is a certain charm to this old quarter...an entourage of rare harmony. Annecy is also the emblematic city for winter sports in France: The French Federation of Skiing is located there. Annecy is the best figure skating club and regularly hosts national championships (short track and figure skating). Annecy city would host the ceremonies, figure skating, curling, short track and speed skating. Semnoz: the family snow-garden of Annecy offers a fantastic broad panorama over the surrounding landscape It is just over the city. It is the place where every kid from Annecy learnt skiing.... It would be the venue for Snowboard and Freestyle skiing. La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand: 2 emblematic villages of the mid-Alps culture They are 2 adjoining, charming villages, 32 kms from Annecy, combining an authentic traditionnal activity (logging, agriculture: one of the best french cheese is made there...) and skiing at winter time. Here is the description of our best enemies...skiclub-Great-Britain La Clusaz: One of France's best kept secrets....One of the few ski resorts left in the country to maintain its traditional French ways Le Grand-Bornand: A small charming resort...A beautiful hidden gem. A delightfiul authentic french ski station which caters for all levels and has a top snow record. They are the french world cup venues for biathlon and cross-country skiing. They would be the venues for all nordic events, really at the heart of the villages for an authentic atmosphere... La Plagne: one of the world biggest modern sking resort Extensive, uncrowded pistes, high altitude riding and access to the Paradiski area (skiclub-Great-Britain) It is the french world cup bobsleigh track, 2H from Annecy. It would host bobsleigh, luge and skeleton. Chamonix-Mt-Blanc : The emblematic resort of high-mountain Arguably the best (expert) ski resort in the world, with epic off-piste, awe-inspiring scenery and a brilliant party scene.(skiclub-Great-Britain) It hosted the first Winter Games in 1924 and 2 alpine World Championships. It is a world cup venue for alpine skiing. It would be the venue for alpine skiing, ice hockey and a second place for medal ceremonies

mattperiolat
Legitimate question here: what is travel time between Chamonix and Annecy? I know it's supposed to be an hour between Garmish and Munich, so I'm contrasting and comparing.
