I mean, at every tournament you seem to hear players complaining about the new ball, but this one seems to have caused more complaints than any other. And, not that I want to take anything away from their performace, do we think Germany had a little advantage over other teams, having played with the Jabulani in their domestic leage for sixth months, one of the only leagues to have done so? But I've heard the problem with Jabulani is that it's too fast and too light so the goalkeepers have a lot of problems. I guess that with Jabulani there should be more goals instead of less... It may feel light for players, possibly because of the materials used, but it's actually at the heavy end of the range of weights an official FIFA ball can be. It's certainly fast though. Only two or three teams I have seen have played up to their potential (Germany, Korea and possibly Paraguay). I think we have some high scoring games to come. Chile-Honduras, Spain-Switzerland, Portugal-Cote d'Ivoire, Brazil-Korea DPR all have the possibilities of being high scoring. I could easily see Chile, Spain and Brazil scoring 3+ goals. Though it will take a lot of goals to catch up to Germany's 39 goals in the first round of the group stage last time. 23 goals in 5 games will be a lot to ask. And the football most teams have played has dissapointed with overhit shots, overhit passes, skied shots etc. I'm not saying I think it's the ball (I think altitude probably has been a greater factor), but a lot of people, and players are critical of it. At least it will be nice to see a team that have close to zero hope of reaching the final or even the semi to play the game instead of having 11 men behind against a big team. I'll tell you what Krow, goal difference is going to be crucial now. What that means is if a team is 3-0 up against North Korea, they won't sit back, they'll keep trying to score more. A draw in the Portugal - Ivory Coast match was the best thing that could have happened for this group, and the worst thing for the North Koreans.
